Pippa Funnel’s Stud Farm Inheritance is long overdue a sequel.
Probably says more about me than it does her, to be fair. -

Fez! (Not really a franchise though)
Dead Space!
Silent Hunter!
Super Monkey Ball!
Assuming they're all actually decent rather than shovelware shite -

Registered 15 years agoForbidden Siren. And not just an Americanised retelling like the last one (which to be fair I still enjoyed). An underrated horror series which IIRC was made by a bunch of ex Silent Hill team members. I still think the first game was the most atmospheric (bar the godawful dub) but the sequel really made the game a lot more manageable in controls and being less obtuse (and gave us a choice of Japanese voices).
The series is different enough to stand out and could fit into the niche that Project Zero has been vacating for a while. The tech advances could make this a very nice PS5 title (being a Sony franchise).
On the other side I agree with others on the likes of Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Hired Guns etc.

Registered 14 years agoSiren, like so many other series of those years, rose from the Japanese horror craze of the era. I really don't think we're getting many more of them now that J-Horror has fallen out of favor. -

Even just giving a Strogg reskin to Doom would do it for me

Established some incredible world-building and lore across 4-7 (plus Serpent Isle), before things went a bit wonky with 8 and 9. The Divinity: Original Sin games do a good job of scratching the itch in terms of gameplay and tone, but I'd still like to go back to Britannia one day. Oh, and a new Ultima Underworld that isn't a lazy hack-job would also be lovely, thanks. -

Unreal Tournament. Gutted that the community driven reboot collapsed.
I played this game for years in my youth (actually played for the UK team in a few iCTF LAN matches for UT99) and nothing's ever come close to it for me.
Best multiplayer map design I've ever seen in a game. -

Who owns the right to that, Activision? Seeing as the original dev is dead it ain't gonna happen. I mean I remember there was going to be a Split Second sequel and Disney shelved that idea.

Well, there is Phoenix Point as the latest X-Com style game from the original developer (unless you mean the Firaxis XCOMs (without the -dash to confuse things) in which case, who knows...

@monkman76 Me and my Xbox “clan” (are they still called that?) had some great fun with the first two games.
I have never wanted to go near any of the subsequent ones. -

Registered 6 years agoI thought Splinter Cell: Blacklist (on Perfectionist difficulty) was pretty great. Probably like it as much, or maybe more than Chaos Theory (just needed more Mike Ironside).
Big one for me is probably Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect engine...
Agree with the Wipeout 2097 calls. -
Hidden and Dangerous would be pretty sweet.
