    I wish I hadn't already finished Dragon Quest XI. It's comfort-food gaming.

I was playing Days gone when it started to get serious. Can easily see how the world would go to shit so quickly.

The new Animal Crossing had the jammiest release timing ever. I've bought it but not started it yet.

Persona 5: Royal is obviously going to be my go-to game for the next couple of months. It's only slightly apocalypsey anyway. But weird running around Tokyo with no social distancing.

Doom Eternal has been great for quick blasts, but I'm nearly done with it now, I think.

The FF7 remake should be a good fallback for when I'm done with Persona 5.

The irony for me is that after a really dry few months on games, a load of releases I've been waiting for have all landed at around the same time. But despite being on lockdown, work has been so manic that I've barely had any gaming time over the last few weeks. Hoping it will settle down soon.

Iíve 11 of my potential 12 weeks to go. So 10 of those should cover days gone and death stranding. Now what to do with that spare week.......

The Division 2 opening seems pretty appropriate for the moment.

As GTA4 just got updated with achievements on pc I decided to replay it. As it's been so long I had forgotten a lot of the brothers Bellic' story and think I actually prefer it to GTA5 now.
May continue with both DLC but also just started RE2 remake so plenty to stop me getting bored.

GTA IV is miles better than V. Where V is better is the ability to go into the desert and muck about but it's got some truly terrible characters.

As great as Breath of the Wild is it is not the Greatest Game of All Time.

As a sandbox to play around in it is unparalleled but it takes to long to get going and is far to minimalistic in terms of story and NPC characters.

Other Nintendo greats such as Mario suffer from these criticisms too but the moment to moment gameplay counteracts these issues to such an extent that a story in Mario would be a negative. That is not true of Zelda, Witcher 3 style side quests would greatly elevate BotW. Just look at Majoraís Mask to see how NPC stories could improve Zelda.

In Mario you always have a clear short term goal which is not true of BotW. In BotW you can go hours without feeling like any progress has been made. For some people that is liberating, for others it can feel like a waste of time. Which in turn leads to the game being parked or abandoned. The greatest game of all time should keep the player engaged from the very start, all the way to the credits. BotW fails to do this for far too many people.

I've been using Geforce Now to play some PC games on my laptop having not had a capable gaming PC for about a decade. Mainly playing games where the odd bit of lag doesn't matter and/or they are better suited to keyboard and mouse.

Best so far are: Parkitect, Disco Elysium and Cities: Skylines

Also tried AC Odyssey and Division 2 during free trials but found both fairly unengaging even if the graphics were nice. I think I'm just completely bored with third-person action games. Hope this isn't the case, as I'm looking forward to The Last of Us 2.

Surely now is the time to get stuck into something massive, or takes a stupid amount of practice.

Witcher 3 or Dirt Rally 2 (if the postman ever gets his arse in gear and brings it).

V is a far better game, IMHO - itís got far more of the stuff that makes GTA games fun.

IV has a better story - but I think the trouble with IV was that they tried to make it darker and grittier and it didnít work as well. GTA is about caricature, satire and wry humour more than anything else.

My gaming time is pretty much now over, before all this shit kicked off If I did play it was between 11pm-2am after the missus had gone to bed but now I'm up at 6 to start work so that option has gone out the window. :(

Days Gone for just under £20 on the PSN...
So tempted despite the review EG gave it. I'm under the impression it has been patched up since?
