I signed up for the 7 day trial of Playstation now to try control to see if it was worth buying. I was not interested in any of the 100s of games that seems very light. On the very same day I went through the quite lengthy process of making sure it did not auto-renew. Today Playstation charged my account even though it is not active. The whole setup of Playstation now seems really scammy. Anybody else had bad experiences with Playstation now? |
Is Playstation NOW a scam?

I just used it recently it for the free seven day trial and cancelled before it renewed and charged me. No problems here, in fact I think you can cancel right away and it will end before it charges you but you still keep the free 7 days. -
I seriously doubt Sony are trying to scam here. -
For Sony it was a scam, but for Mr Bison, it was Tuesday. -

Registered 16 years agoNo, it's not.Don't get me wrong, it's convoluted to turn off auto renew, but it ain't a scam. They should actually give you an option upon subscribing to auto renew or not, but netflix, amazon prime and xbox game pass do the same thing. You need to be switched on to this stuff. -
Quite lengthy process? It takes around 30 seconds. -

Registered 5 years agoI used the trial last year no problem. Disabled auto renew immediately after signing up and no sting in the tail. I almost signed up for longer in fact as I was quite happy with how it ran on PC, only thing holding it back was the 720p output cap. But hey, Stadia is here and... well. no. PS Now is good. -
I used it for about a month and had no problems cancelling it. 720p and stereo only sound were the big drawbacks but the library wasn’t bad and having some games being downloadable seems like quite the plus (I don’t have a PS4 but I was tempted to get one because of the download option). I don’t think it gets enough credit and the price would be quite reasonable if only they offered 1080p & 5.1 (charge an extra $3-4 for it and we’d be square!).
