Registered 9 years agoI would have rather they just kept the ds4 rather than fleecing people for controllers again. Microsoft are doing the right thing by allowing us to use our existing pads. -

You don’t know PS4 pads won’t work, do you?

The XBSX is coming with a new controller too. -

Registered 9 years agoThe addition of the create button will be their reason for not being able to use it. If they dont allow you to use the ds4 pads it is environmentally irresponsible as some people will have 4 pads that they will potentially never use again. That's a load of plastic waste for no reason.

The lack of a big light at the front means PSVR2 will likely work in a different way to PSVR. -

Registered 17 years agoIf they’ve sent it out to developers we should start to see some thoughts on it soon enough. I wonder what the haptic feedback adds to the experience. The dpad doesn’t bother me either as it looks similar to the PS4 in my eyes. -

So what's the big pad in the middle? Still a touch pad?

I seem to recall being able to use the ps1 controllers on the ps2. But the dualshock sticks were missing. Something like that

Registered 9 years ago@Decks dont think so, not without an adapter or device. There is very little reason why they cant work though other than the companies making money on them all over again. -

It's only a share button. Just gives you a hardware button to do what you currently have to do in software (and that software option will obviously still be there on Series X, given old pads work).
Yeah if anything the DS4 seems.to be functionally the same as this (bar the haptic feedback). Doesn't the new Xbox controller have an extra button?

Yeah, I thought this. I've been assuming they're going to go inside-out tracking anyway.

Some Wii game supported the GC controllers, mostly fighting games like Smash, but also Mario Kart iirc.

You couldn't use the GC pad on Wii games though?

Can't leave this alone today. Personally think the design allows for loads of options re: variations.
