All Black DuelSense is very similar to the NACON Wired Compact Control.

    Re-post for new page:

Can't leave this alone today. Personally think the design allows for loads of options re: variations.

The white touchpad ruins it. Just like the PS4 controller, feels like it should be a different colour looks awkward

I don’t mind the white but I very much like it in black.

So more trackpad silliness, sticks still not in the correct position. HD rumble, though. Hm.

The sticks are never going to move, I don’t know why people expect/hope them to. It;s a recognizable part of the PS pad design, and it’s as comfortable for as many people as it isn’t.

Yep, tbh all the pads are good now and it's no big deal whatsoever to switch between them.

So many mock-ups with different colour schemes, white ones seem almost dull now!

I don't think that was a mock up. They were real, no?

Maybe mock up was the wrong term - more like a concept design wasn't it?

I do wish Sony would accept that MS have the perfect placement for the left stick. I've used a dualshock since the beginning, but Microsoft's controller is near enough perfect. Find it difficult to use the DS4 if I've used the xbox / switch controller for any amount of time.

As for this, I think its ugly as shit but happy to see them try something different. The DS format was well past its sell by. Just a shame about that left stick

The biggest head fuck is switching between Switch and Xbox. Don't really mind swapping sticks to the PS.

@the_milkybar_kid They may not be able to use the same placement.

It was part of the console when it was first presented I think. I think the public even seen it at E3 or something. Then everyone made dildo and banana jokes and they scraped it.

I hated the old PS controllers, I tended to play driving games through ps1 onwards and didnt get a ps3 until 2018 to play a few rpg's I missed and still trying too today.

The sticks I can deal with, its the R2 button have never really been usable as a throttle to me.

Always messes me up when there are QTEs on a Switch game. Anything else, I'm completely fine, but as soon as I have to hit a button in a split-second, I'll fuck it up.

Yeah really like that. Also saw a mock-up Spiderman one on Reddit that looked awesome.

Yep, asymmetrical sticks for our asymmetrical hands...

There is no perfect stick placement. It’s all preference based on hand size, pad size, historical usage, and the games you play.

It’s occurred to me that the DualSense is styled like the VR headset, so it seems that’s going to be the PS style going forward. I suspect you’ll get a black one pretty quickly though, as it’ll be the most requested based on AV equipment.

Exactly, I find it a bit baffling. Both my thumbs are the same length, I like the sticks to be positioned to reflect that.

The argument is around most common usage - left stick and right buttons.
But I find both equally comfortable. I do have larger hands though - I liked the Duke.

I am not happy it doesn’t have back paddles.

The elite has converted me and the idea of letting go of one of the sticks I use for movement to press a button seems ridiculous!

We don't know that it doesn't. No images of the underside have been released. Personally, it'll be a little surprised if it doesn't have rear buttons, in some form. The recent DS4 add-on is an acknowledgement by Sony that there's a need / market for the extra features.

I think they'd have mentioned it in their new controller deep dive.
