Just wondering. This can be incredibly specific. It can be a game of it's time, or your time. Mine is The Witcher 3, I think of it as the game I always wanted to play. Previous sort of betweeen Ocarina and Super Mario Galaxy. But I always think back to my brother. He was suffering anxiety issues at the time, and took solace in Super Monkey Ball. Got really good too, held a couple of records. |
What is your greatest game of all time?

Of recent times, The Last of Us. It’s the only game that, edited well, would hold up as a movie. Which it did in The Girl with All the Gifts.
The game I loved so much to be genuinely good at was Nights on the Saturn. Third place in a national competition I was. -

Registered 12 years agoTough call... depending on my mood could be Shadow of the Colossus, Mass Effect, Dark Souls, or Bloodborne.
EDIT: Having thought about it, it's Bloodborne.

Registered 9 years agoProbably a Zelda, probably Link's Awakening or Link to the Past. But that could just be nostalgia, in reality I have a whole bunch of games I'd call greatest of all time. -

Some good picks there, I rebought KOTOR 1 and 2 on Xbox one, £8 odd quid the pair. Played a bit of the first on bacpat a while ago, still a great game(s)
The reason I bought the original Xboxes that game. -

Registered 4 years agoAh my Xbox purchase and the reason/start of my switch from PC gamer to console gamer was halo:CE. I was/am a huge fps fan and I finally saw a game that looked like it could compete with the pc shooters. Plus the visuals looked far better than anything at the time and I'm quite the secret sci-fi nerd. -

Breath of the Wild and the original Disgaea make up my top 3. -

Registered 14 years agoI think I would answer differently every time I'm asked. Breath of the wild is the only open world game that didn't bore me. Just wandering was fun, I dont even know why that is, but for me that's the real magic of it.
Rocket League has entertained me for more ours than any game ever.
Final Fantasy 7 captivated my 13 year old brain like nothing else
Links Awakening is a perfect game. Cool story, good music, fun location and just the right length. Absolutely no filler.
Super Mario Galaxy took the 64 template and made Mario epic

Registered 14 years agoI was obsessed with flashback when it came out, replayed it on switch recently and remembered almost every screen--still brilliant. So that's up there, alongside Doom and the first Tenchu. -
Baldur's Gate 2.
Runner up nominations to Doom (the original), Dark Souls, The Witcher 3 and Persona 5.
