Demon's Souls is still/again my favourite. Nostalgia is certainly a factor, but playing the remake has just confrimed for me that Boletarian Palace and the Shrine of Storms are my favourite locations in all FROM games. Edited by UncleLou at 10:56:16 23-02-2021 |

It's rumoured that if someone stands in front of a mirror and whispers the phrase, "DS2 is shit," 5 times they get backstabbed in their sleep. -

No, the first! The huge castle. I've loved it in the original, I've loved it here.

Registered 13 years agoOh yes. Fair enough. I liked the misty area with the bad framerate in Bloodborne - one of the Yarnhams, think it's where the minigun guy is shooting at you. And Anor Londo in Dark Souls. -

Since this, I've tried to press on to the Dragon God and have come so close to the second ballista thing a couple of times but he manages to fry me. I think I'm mistiming it, particularly as it takes me a while to hack through the last thing blocking the way.
I've just defeated Flamelurker on my first attempt.
What on earth has happened to me? How have I become not shit?
Should I consider leaving him and trying one of the first levels of 3, 4 or 5 instead? Only been in 4 to grab the weapon and grind a few souls, habent gone particularly far in it and haven't touched 3 or 5 at all! Just wanted to finish the second level whilst I was there. -

Registered 15 years agoWith the whole "Sony's fine with PS5 exclusives headed to PC" thing in the news today... do we think there's a PC version incoming? I mean, it's a high-profile launch title, which would suggest not. But it's also a probably-expensive-to-make game whose sales are currently limited by the availability of PS5 hardware.
Though it would be hilarious if it turned out the PC version needed an Ampere or Big Navi card... -

Registered 1 week agoStarted playing this. Played the original back on the ps3 - actually imported back when you couldn't buy in the UK. Breezed through 1-1 and then straight to the tower knight... Who kicked my ass! Don't remember him being so aggressive in the original! -

Same. I just love how varied all the locations are. And I loved the nexus too, a place between life and death, filled with trapped souls., so forlorn.

It strangely always reminds me a bit of Mario 64. Except through every painting, instead of a lovely cartoon land, is a world filled with death and more death.

I agree I’m finding some bosses much harder in the remake than I did on PS3. 1-1 was easy, but then Tower Knight and the Spider are both blocking my progress at the moment.
Mind you, I perhaps made a mistake in starting as a Temple Knight which seems to be hampered by the halberd (which is totally inappropriate to all the narrow spaces in these levels), a heavy equip weight (rolling is terribly slow) and also the fact that the class demands a load more levelling to be able to use magic. I’ve sorted my need for a decent sword by visiting 3-1 and I’m now grinding out enough levels to be able to get Soul Ray and then just maybe I’ll be able to snipe my way past these two.
It’s a magnificent game (again) but it’s definitely making me suffer!

@Killerbee
You could always take off armour if rolling slow. Don't have to wear what they've given you!
