The series is set to air all nine episodes in the UK on the 23 April 2020 on Sky Atlantic, and in the US on Cinemax. The series was created by Gareth Evans, best known for The Raid action crime films, along with Matt Flannery prepaidcardstatus

Yeah they really should have made him change his public school boy accent. He was better in Peaky Blinders.

I'm enjoying this but of the six episodes I've watched only the first really had Gareth Evans style fight scenes which is a shame. Looks like he only directed one episode and I assume it was that one. They might be a bit out of place in a London gangster story but they still put most cinematic fights to shame.

Plenty of violence in the other episodes but mostly of the shooty shooty bang bang variety.

I liked the fight with Cole, that was pretty good.

But otherwise, yeah, the epic fight scenes seem to be pretty spread out. I guess that's easier on the actors too.

It'd also be pretty weird if Elliot was getting the shit kicked out of him literally every episode. Hell, it's already pretty miraculous how quickly the guy seems to heal.

EDIT: From reading up on the credits, Evans also directed the Welsh episode. Which I did like a lot!

I had a sneaky suspicion they had front loaded the series a bit as it was pretty full on, not been back yet.

I like how the murder of dozens of people via automatic weapons seems to within the accepted crime statistics for London.

He really is pretty fucking terrible as an undercover agent.

"Ok ok, it might seem like I spend my days going to dinners, participating in massacres and failing to prevent other massacres, but I'm really getting you the info you need I swear"

Even ep one, you have to think he’d have some restraint, given his vocation. I’m pretty sure it’s a step or two beyond acceptable “collateral damage” for his superiors.
And he’ll likely have murdered half of London by the time it ends.

Disappointed to hear about the lack of fight scenes in the later episodes. Was hoping it was going to go full martial arts thing.

Finished. Thoroughly enjoyable despite it having the body count of a medium sized war-zone. Like Eastenders meets GoT.

Up to Ep 5 now - it gets effing crazy.

I'm not sure if it's due to having mild face blindness, but I find it a bit tough to figure out who's a Turk, who's a Kurd, who's Albanian.

I like it when Finland invades.

I'm on ep 5 (or whichever one it is that is based in Wales).

There's at least one "Gareth Evans bit" in each episode.

it doesn't really let up. It's not always so martial artsey, but is definitely violent. There's lots of killings in each episode.

Quite enjoyed the first episode. The fights are pretty cool.

The "main" ginger guy is a bit shit though.

There's a lot of extremely dead people in this. I think The Raid 2 set the bar for how dead someone can be, as there was a scene I think where an Uzi clip was emptied into the visor of the guy's crash helmet, he fell off his bike and got run over.

That's North Korea levels of extremely dead

Ep1 and 5 were excellent, some of the rest was great, some of it very average, some of villains very good, some non descript, plot, motivations and acting all over the place - very mixed bag.

Bonus points for some of the twists though - albeit a couple of nonsensical ones

Quite nasty, sometimes good nasty, occassionally in a bit of an unpleasant unnecessary way if that makes sense

    Ranges from 4/10 to 9/10

Finished this today. I enjoyed it overall, but I echo some of the other comments in the thread. Was a bit miffed they had such epic fight scenes early on just for them to vanish for basically the rest of the series.

Some pretty brutal bits (the female soldier/mercenary put up with so much awful shit) alot to follow, as in they're so many different gangs and factions and secret fucking shadow organisations it's hard to follow every single facet, but you just go along for the ride.
