Cannot wait for this. One of my favourite things in gaming is losing myself in an Asassins Creed game on a next generation of consoles. That increase in fidelity and sense of place is just something else.

My main hope is they revamp the combat system though and the animation in general while they're at it. There's always been a level of jankiness that you almost except because of the size and scale of everything else, if they do away with that this really could be something special.

the new consoles may have a hell of a time handling that kind of real time volumetric lighting ;)

Wonder if theyíll have some kind of offer like black flag where if you bought it in ps3 you could use the disc and upgrade that to a ps4 version.

They've announced they're essentially doing that with the One X / Series X, so I imagine it'll be the same for PS4/5.

I loved that trailer. England is getting a bit of attention from Ubisoft what with WD:Legion and now this. Day 1.

I'm interested in the setting as a fan of the period, and with AC's shift to more RPG style game this could be fun.

I'm still surprised they haven't done a ninja one yet - unless I've missed one.

@Anthony_UK I think the combat just needs a little more weight behind it. So when an axe hits a shield there is a bit of stagger.

It is weird how they're so reluctant to say absolutely fuck all.

Historically, when a new AC is announced is there a sale on previous titles? I hope so. Want to play Odyssey again but on my One X but donít want to pay Ä70 to do so.

    Those legit in game screenshots?

    Stunning either way.

Touch of super sampling but like the previous games they've been pretty close to the final product.

Yeah, they're press screens, so they're probably a bit polished up, but they should be fairly representative. I've not played Odyssey yet so I can't comment on that, but Origins is absolutely stunning on PC.

Jason Schreier said earlier that Sony will be showing stuff in a few weeks or so.

I would definitely imagine they're going to show Cyberpunk at that event.

CDPR announced they're supporting intelligent delivery, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's there.

@disusedgenius Yes indeed, Syndicate was in London but I meant this year we have two games from the same dev set in England.

Fuckin loved Origins, a real return to form, but haven't played Odyssey yet despite picking up the complete edition in a sale.

But assuming I get a PS5 on release, all over this, made by the same Origins team I hear? Wahey!

Trailer was good. Nice to see the wrist blades return.

As I said previously though, I have only just finished Odyssey. So this is coming a bit too soon for me.

I made a massive mistake of going from RDR2 straight into trying to play Odessey. I really needed a palette cleanser between open world games as it's very jarring to suddenly deal with different systems.

Not to mention that it's tough to compete with RDR2's landscapes when your game is already a couple of years old.

Pre-ordered. I'm ready for Valhalla. I hope the gameworld is big enough that hopefully my town is featured. Well, it'll be a hamlet.

Day one too, but I really really hope they revamp the combat and general animation. I thought Odyssey was a big step back from Origins in this regard, with considerably extra jank, but luckily the same team who made Origins is on this.

I found the reverse, origins combat I never really gelled with properly (it felt like the combat controls were on the wrong buttons) although not perfect I preferred odysseyís.

And yes Iíll be day one on this on whichever console I bite for first probably.
Just got to get through odyssey first.

This. I keep playing for a bit, turn off for several weeks, then return. Think I will make it my main now.

I'm up to Public Opinion "an actor's life for me" on Odyssey chapter.
More depressingly on the upgrade the spear quest, I Currently have 0/22 Artifact Fragments. I'm assuming this has to be completed.
I'm going to leave the sides at this point. I'm over 60 hours in and somewhat fatigued. Also I have the Gold edition, so loads more content.
...typing this I do not know if I have the will!

I love Kass as a main and enjoy the world, I just think it is a step to far in the size and grind. Origins was perfect for the "newer" Creed games.

Origins was smaller but still too big, and stuffed full of inconsequential distractions and large areas of the map that you didnít even end up visiting. Yet I find the characters and the setting and story so much more interesting in odyssey even if it can be massively diluted.

Probably all of this will be being debated once more when Valhalla arrives just the same as usual.
The ass guys sure do make beautiful worlds though, and know what they are after. The issue comes because they literally never know when to stop.
