Day 3 of press ups and day 2 of plank challenge done. It's be so long since I've done planks that it's harder than I thought it would be.

    Enjoying it so far though

I still think that plank thing looks fairly easy, doubt it'll make the push-ups much worse.

The push-up get hideous quite quickly though.

I did the push ups in the morning, and the planks this evening. So should be okay I reckon. The push ups look a bit daunting alright. But it'll be worth it at the end. I'm looking forward to the before and after pics you guys will put up.

As shit as it is right now I have noticed a difference. I feel like I could crush a babies head between my pecs.

I'll carry it on in a less intense routine.

Yeah definitely feeling swoll. Going to try to keep to 50 to 100 a day after this.

It's less intensive than this ridiculous challenge, but I've been trying doing an exercise on the minute, every minute, for an hour. Started with pullups, one at a time, to try to improve them because I can barely string 5 together.

It seems to work pretty well. I ended up doing 70 that day, way more than I'd ever done before in one day.

Anyway I mention here because I did pushups today, 6 to 10 at a time. You get lots of rest as it only takes 10 to 15 seconds, but you get lots of reps in, so that's over 300 pushups today, again, way more than I've done before in one day. And you can do work or whatever while you're doing it! (I might even concentrate better like that; no temptation to pick up the phone...)

I'm thinking about building my own pull up and dip station in the garden. Looked online at kits and they're ridiculously expensive so trying to source parts for more of a bitch DIY job.

I built a salmon ladder in my yard. I've only fallen off the top flat onto my back twice. That was kinda expensive, but I put up a pull up bar a few years ago for buttons

Just googled what a salmon ladder is, it's impressive that you've built one and just as impressive you put your body through that.

Even watching someone do it looked painful.

Gymnastics rings are a good cheap option for doing dips/pull ups at home.

In fact, if I had to have only one piece of gym equipment it would be rings.

    I love rings.

I have some paralettes I got in argos. They're up past my hip, not them small jobbies you can get. Great for dips and other bodyweight exercises

It's pretty much just technique, rather than fitness prowess - if you can do a cheating kipping Crossfit pull up, you can, with practice, get up the ladder.

    It's all in the hips

Yeah just done them, I'm feeling pretty beat up now. My shoulders hurting as soon as I start. Only 5 days left though.

I've lost 3kg since starting the challenge, looking trim.

Makes today's pain worth it, that was hard.

I've done day 5s pressups and will do the plank challenge later. Found my shoulders were hurting doing the high side plank so did low side planks.

It's a good challenge though, really feeling it.

What'll you do when it's finished? Start over wearing a weighted vest? That's what Rocky would do..

    @Rum_Monkey

You still going? Starting to struggle now, my bodies starting to feel a bit fucked. Did the diamonds first there and it totally fucked me.

Did it about an hour ago and still hurt now. My form is OK but I can't get through a whole set without having to stop now and I'm really just counting down the days until this is over.

It's annoying because I've really noticed a big difference in definition but I can't be arsed going through that again.

I think I would have given up if it wasn't for the thread and others going through the same pain. The easier plank challenge will be a relief after this
