In a row I guess. I've zero hope of doing a hundred off the bat but I just wanted something to make me do it and this one looked rough. Now that everyone seems to think it'll kill all who try I want to do it even more.

Not to discourage you fine chaps, but aiming for an arbitrary number might be a bit misleading. Try doing one pressup extremely slowly, over the course of a minute - 20 seconds down, hold for 20 secs at the bottom, 20 seconds going up. I'd take 40 quickfire pushups over that!

Quality over quantity, & all that. Still, obviously good to get on it though. I've learnt to do dips since lockdown kicked off. Aiming to come out of this fitter than I went in.

Still, I can't do 100 in a row, just tried and failed miserably. So fair enough if you manage it!

I can manage 50 press ups in a row after a couple weeks going at it.
I prefer to stick to sets of 15 for now and continually find the fail point.

While naked and semi hard naturally.

We sometimes do a thing at the boxing gym where we put Flowers by Moby on and you go down whenever he says down, hold an inch off the ground then up when he says up. Its fucking awful.

    Grim.

I've been doing a bodyweight basics routine (badly) - push ups, pullups, dips, squats, handstand hold, boat hold. At the end you have to try to hang on the pullup bar for 1 minute. Just hang there. Sounds easy but I've never made it the whole 60 seconds.

That's horrific. I had a go but only managed about 45 seconds.

Oddly I still can't do pullups for shit since my hospital stay / rehab... but I'm able to do dead hangs just fine. Have been doing them throughout the day at roughly 50% my max each time.

I've never been the biggest fan of boat hold though. You can cheat it (make it all hip flexors and back arch), but when done right it can be agony.

Dirty bird? Is that an Annie Wilks reference? I always did mean to use her lexicon of swear words more often. Ya cockadoodie!

Well done Decks. And Thanks for posting this as I had let all my own hard work slip over the last week and a half so this got me back in to it.

I did 100 last night. Not all in a row, 20 (to satisfy the schedule), reps of 15, 20 to round off 100.
I felt it more than the days I was doing double that. It shows how you lose it so quickly.
    Will do my 25 tonight.

It's the holding an inch off the ground that gets you.

Day 2 done, started the plank challenge too which I don't think will be a good idea when everything ramps up.

Yeah I've been looking at sit up ones to do but I might see how rough this is first.

I feel the effects of last night in my stomach today and that's just from the press-ups.

Sit ups are probably not a bad idea to go alongside this.

Think I fucked up with the planks as it uses the same muscles.

The boat hold (45 seconds) is actually the easy version - the alternative is a 20 second L-sit. I can make a feeble attempt at it with parallettes but with just your hands on the floor, trying to lift up and hold it, nope, no chance.

    The routine is:

    10 pullups / 15 Australian pullups
    10 dips / 15 bench dips
    15 pushups (varied)
20 squats (can mix in jumping squats or whatever)
    20 sec L-sit / 45 sec boat hold
20 sec handstand hold / 12 pike pushups
    60 sec hang on bar

    Repeat 4 times

It's.... harder than it sounds! On the 3rd & 4th sets my form is all over the place. Going up for a handstand hold feels pretty fucking risky at that point, lol. But I hate pike pushups.

I'm getting better though, so it seems a decent workout.

    @Rum_Monkey Yeah you're right but I frigging hate sit-ups.
I space the press-ups out with squats while holding a weight bar out in front of me.

This seems pretty good for an ab challenge. Doesn't look too rough and mixes it up a bit. 200 crunches on the last day will sting a bit though.

Ugh, don't do hundreds of sit-ups. We've known for some time that they're shit.

    Try something from these guys:

Can you explain the difference in a crunch from a sit-up please?

Crunch is essentially the only useful part of a sit-up (the first part). The second part mainly ends up being hip flexors, and is awful for your spine.
