Being bored my housemate and I have started rewatching old sporting events, trying to make up for the lack of anything live.

I need suggestions (also am here to offer up a few.) What are the greatest matches or moments worth rewatching and chatting about with friends?

    Last night we decided:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D2rFMPN9js - Ronnie O'Sullivan, fastest ever 147.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soJXFjzwWVI - Japan beating South Africa in a world cup.

then my personal favourite: (We watched the full match last night)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD-mqVq4Kmc - South Africa demolishing England for a world cup win.

    Any suggestions for tonight?

I am tempted by something to do with Michael Dunlop, Tiger Woods or a sport I know nothing about, like Netball or Basketball or something.

Derek Redmond in Barcelona makes me cry like a baby every time I watch it.

Something more happy - the Ryder Cup comeback in 2012 or the Cricket World Cup win last year.

If you can get hold of When We Were Kings anywhere it's a fantastic documentary on the build up to the fight and what it meant.

Michael Van Gerwen's 17 perfect darts. One dart away from back-to-back nine dart finishes.

Ridiculous match. Got to add the whole Taylor Vs Barneveld 2007 world final in there while we're on it.

Some more snooker ones off the top of my head:

Stephen Hendry's clearance in the final frame against Jimmy White in the 1994 world final. Bollocks that probably have their own orbit.

Also Hendry, his 147 against Ronnie O'Sullivan in the deciding frame of the Victoria charity challenge. For context Ronnie had staged a massive comeback from 8-4 down and had played Hendry off the table for a long period immediately before that point.

I went to a darts even in leeds and can't remember a thing about the matches. I was absolutely leathered. Top night.

There's a few Ryder Cups that were pretty great. Valhalla 2008 maybe, from a euro pov (you're honorary euro now right?).

Mathieu van der Poel doing the unthinkable and single handily pulling a whole line of riders back to the front over 40k before then out sprinting the lot of them at the 2019 Amstel Gold bike race. Never seen a finish like it and won’t again for a very long time.

The LeMond vs Hinault drama at the 85 and 86 Tour de France. I think there was a documentary made of a book (Le Blaireau?)

Edit: Slaying the Badger (imdb link)

Kimi Raikkonen snatching the 2007 F1 world title from an almost impossible position with 2 races to go.

Mika Hakkinen's overtake on Michael Schumacher down Eau Rogue at Spa, 2000.

The entire first half of the 2012 F1 season is also an absolutely incredible watch.

Great shout. Gonna watch this myself tonight. Maybe some of the value is gained from having a bit of cycling knowledge as to why it is so ridiculous though.

As a Leicester fan - our 3-1 win against Man City in the title win. Just...that was the game we knew it was on. Bit of bragging - I eventually met Robert Huth in a cafe near Stockport and dropped a bollock. Best I could muster was asking for a handshake.

Then Hazard's goal vs Spurs in the 2-2. He's an honorary fox for that one.

Haha my word, this match has what I think is the best bit of sports commentary I've ever heard!

Sometimes you dream about darts matches and you wake up and realise no it didn't really happen and it's not really happening and it's just some sort of TUNGSTEN FANTASY - but this is really happening in front of your very eyes!
