Registered 2 years agoIt's not coming to ps4 as well is it?
Hopefully they just concentrate on making it on the ps5.

It is PS5 exclusive. They did a good job for not making my PS4 sound like a hairdryer. -
And zero frame rate issues -

Registered 8 years agoI thought the writing and story were pretty decent in this. It at least gave some context to its terrible, terrible title later on.
The first game I mean..

Some of the encounters were epic and won't be forgotten in a long time. I liked the story and themes enough but it could have done with being more linear, so I ended up just treating it as one.

I really don't like open world games. Just having a checklist of shit to run to and then perform some menial task like collecting a fucking bit of fruit.
Having said that, a mate lent me Horizon Zero Dawn and I played it to just fucking shut him up. But it was really good. There's all the aforementioned bullshit ticklist wank, but the combat is really good and the world looked lovely.
I'm going to get it on PC when it releases to play it again in non-poverty mode. The 30 fps was really noticable on the pro and it chugged a bit when fighting some of the big T-rex's.
The story was just about ok to get you through the game. The DLC was decent.
I welcome a sequel though I'll probably not have a PS5 until the 'pro' version comes out so I'll just have to wait about 3 years for this.

Why would you hope something is exclusive? I wish every game ever released was multi platform. -

Ah apologies. I suppose you don't want the old consoles holding it back so fair point. -

Registered 16 years agoI thought the story was great, one of my favourite of the last gen. Took a little while to warm up, though. -
Overall, I liked the main story. Just way too much dialogue for the side quests. I don't want to hear every villagers sob story when doing a quest but that's what you get with these games. Just skip the lot and it's not a problem. -

The superior hardware. I don't want to have to 'upgrade' it by buying a new machine in a few years. And at that point there will be loads of games to play.

I generally have never purchased a console at launch because historically they have barely any games worth playing for about 2 years. So I may as well wait a little bit longer and get the better device (the time between the vanilla and pro ps4s was almost exactly 3 years).
There's no guarantee they will release a Pro but it seemed to be the business model last gen.

Registered 17 years agoI would expect all the first party titles to be PS5 exclusive.
People are assuming that there will be an upgrade plan because MS are doing it but Sony have said time and again, including the end of the software announcements, that they believe in generational transitions.
They've never done upgrades previously either - some (2?) PS3 titles got remasters on PS4.
Similarly, people waiting for TLoU2 getting a PS5 version might be waiting a long time.
ed: 3 remasters - TLoU, Uncharted collection and GoW3.

I was thinking about this the other day and I'm not sure what they would add into a 'pro' version this time round. With this gen it was easy - same thing more or less but 4K. Nice and simple, easy to communicate, doesn't alienate the base models and for those that want it things look noticeably better.

But what would they do this time round? I don't think 8K will be viable in 3 years, both from the perspective of people having 8K TVs in their home and also from a new box being able to push 8K visuals. Maybe they could guarantee 4K60 with a Pro console but I don't think that has the same impact as being labelled 'the 4K box' as One X and PS4 Pro were.

Registered 15 years agoWould be very curious to see if its learnt any lessons from Breath Of The Wild. Started the DLC now after seeing the trailer, really enjoying it. Its brutal too, just need more time to get reacquainted with the combat. If theres anything I would like out of a sequel, you could probably add more to melee combat, a more intricate approach to stealth, maybe more reason to explore the world than just climbing the tall necks and going on similar side quests. Just hope any underwater sections they seem to be teasing arent crap. -

Registered 14 years agoI tried to start the Horizon DLC recently after not having touched the game since release and I might as well have been playing with my elbows, I couldn't remember a thing. I probably need to redo the whole thing but I don't know if I have it in me.

I'm sure you'll pick it up again. From what I remember the DLC introduces new weapons, skills and tactics anyway, so it should be fairly easy to play it self contained.
