It's extremely cynical but it works. Also it’s very likely that any Mario Odyssey DLC has been spun into a sequel. |

I was going to reply that it's just people chancing their arm as you can still buy the game off Amazon for a bargain [sic] £50, but then checked the sold listings and there's quite a lot going for £60+.

Such a scummy move to announce it will be limited release before it's even out. Even if they just update it in March to include SMG2 rather than remove it from sale completely, what did they expect to happen? -

Registered 17 years agoBetter to announce the terms before release than just remove it from sale in March with no notice.
As long as the numbers aren't limited during the 6 month sale window then it won't have an impact until much later down the line - all the scalpers will just be left with loads of copies that they can't sell on. -

I wouldn't be surprised if most of those sold copies were bought by people that are planning to kept it sealed and then resell after the end of March.

Yeah I don't understand the rush, unless Nintendo understock retailers, but I've heard no rumours of that. I only pre-ordered because it was cheap at ShopTo. Otherwise, I'd be happy to wait for a copy from Amazon or elsewhere, when it's potentially even cheaper.

It's bizarre that people are buying and selling on eBay already though... why not buy it cheaper directly from a proper retailer like Amazon, or am I missing something?
I still maintain the worst thing Nintendo could do now is decide to continue selling it beyond March, now that people have bought into the idea of a limited sales window, regardless of whether copies will be scarce or not. By announcing a sales window - as opposed to a "limited edition" game - Nintendo have created perceived scarcity without legally committing to a limited amount of units/sales. It's the best of both worlds for Nintendo, and very clever really. -
My game and watch has just arrived, it's a lovely bit of kit giving off the perfect retro vibes.
I've put it straight back in the box and now I don't know when I'll ever use it.
