" Yeah, SH is great, it's the sequel that wasn't much cop."

    Actually I'm quite enjoying Covenant:-)

Oh and Blerk, I would quite call it SH Hating. More Shadow Heart 'slight annoyance and bemusement'.

Yup, some of the dungeons were absolutely hideous, especially the first few and the last one. And it seemed to me that the random encounter rate increased the further I progressed. It's a decent enough game, but it has 'wasted potential' written all over it.

By the way, I just added some new Japanese release candidates to the list...

What's this? Bitching about Shadow Hearts Covenant? Don't mind if I do...

The daftness quota went up exponentially in Covenant. I was never quite sure whether or not to take the game seriously, what with camp wrestlers, dirty old men and...that S&M woman with the huge knockers.

Ah, nothing like a bit of catharsis early in the morning \o/

Ah, but in Shadow Hearts the daftness was an unpleasant suprise. In Covenant I was already forewarned and thus was able to enjoy it for what it was:-)

News from the RPG front: Xenosaga I-II (DS), Xenosaga III (PS2) and Baten Kaitos 2 (GC) have just been announced. Meh, semi-yay and semi-yay, respectively.

How are they going to fit Xenosaga into a DS without turning it into a monster-collecting card game?

    Oh.

Sorry for the late reply, I was a bit busy just now. Let's see, according to Gamefront the Japanese release dates are December 2005 for Baten Kaitos 2 and TBA for the others. No word of US or European versions as yet, sadly.

About Xenosaga III; all the important information from the Famitsu article plus scans (wahoo, sexy Shion and KOS-MOS pics \o/) can be found at Gamefront now.

    - They've hired a new character designer so the characters will look slightly different.
    - The battle system sees a return of the Techs which were absent in II.
    - In addition, the actual fighting will take less time now (thank heavens for that, as long as it doesn't mean we get a higher encounter rate instead).
    - There will be a lot more AGWSs to choose from and the robots will have more attack options.
    - Additionally, the developers want to add more ES units because the fans liked them a lot. And I've completely forgotten what they are, d'oh!
    - Oh well, the game takes place one year after the events in XS II, and there will be a new dialogue system for discussions with NPCs.

    Colour me moderatly excited.

    Woo-hoo!! Here's hoping it's more XS2 than XS1.

    -edit-

Oh my god! Just looked at those screenshots - Where the fuck did all their clothes go?? And since when did KOS-MOS have..er..soft bits? I think that character designer needs to go have a cold shower and stay the fuck away from Xenosaga!

While im looking forward to XS2 im a little confused why im not allowed the first, I mean the graphics cant have improved much, its the same hardware. WHY?! I may have to get an import PS2 and play it on that and buy XS2 for Pal (gotta show we like the pal RPGs! (not buying Suikoden 4 though, ship stuff bores me)).

Just been reading the info over at RPGamer and it appears XSIII will be the conclusion:-( So much for the original plan...

Oh well, maybe it's for the best...

Well, that's the problem with games that have a continuous storyline I guess. You get less buyers with every new game because newcomers won't want to enter in the middle of the series and not all people who bought the first games will also buy the sequels. And to be honest, I don't think I could endure another 5 or 6 episodes with the same characters *cough*Albedo*cough*.

Still, maybe that'll give them a chance to do that Xenogears remake in time for PS3 :)
Come to think of it, there are things that are worse than having to face Albedo for a few more episodes ;-)

Not exactly unexpected, but nice to see a confirmation nonetheless. Wild Arms 4 and Shadow Hearts 3 are on their way to the United States. Click me.

This is actually quite bad news for us! They're being published by XSEED, a new outfit created by some ex-Square guys who are devoted to bringing Japanese titles to the US. i.e. not Europe.

They've effectively nicked Shadow Hearts from Midway who published world-wide. Bollocks! :-(

Long shot, but has anyone heard if 3D ages are releasing Dragon Force, PS2, in the UK, or even the US?

As far as I know, Dragon Force isn't going to be released outside of Japan. Which, considering the abysmal sales of the Saturn version, shouldn't come as a surprise.

Tales of Eternia* for the PSP is coming to Europe before the year is over, courtesy of Ubisoft. Says Gamefront.

Interest in the PSP - slowly rising.

*not Legendia of course, cheers Scimarad.
