    Why do you like the Ninty so much over the PSP?

    I suppose mainly innovation, but if I took more time to think about it I could say more. Plus, I think the DS is an interesting and very innovative and fun handheld whilst the PSP just has the looks. Like I said: The PSP is a Supercar whilst the DS is a family model. I find no reason for Supercars in real life.

    Vitual Tennis, World Champ snooker, Ridge racer, SSX on tour, Wipeout pure, GTA LC, NFSU Rivals, Midnight Club 3, Mercury, Lumines,

    31 launch titles compared to 16 on DS

    16 titles coming from EA this christmas compared to 5?

    Yes Hyoushi you've sucessfully pushed the buttons :)

    Okay... Lumines would be the only one to truly interest me. Most of those are sequals or ports of other games...

    EDIT: Also, please stay on topic.

    And maybe the fact that the PSP will launch so late is a part of that?

    I was talking about bias on your 'DS is for girls' fact and that you were using only 1 shop to promote your argument.

    k.o.t.i,
    When you're at work is there some backward teenage babysitter using your E/G account? Comments like this....
    k.o.t.i wrote: Nintendo not even a leading brand in gaming.
    In 2004 Nintendo were the largest gaming publisher in Japan and were the 3rd largest publisher in the US. Before for you say " Ah yes Pokémon. " The Pokémon franchise is separate from Nintendo, Pokémon was in 6th place in the Japanese chart of 2004.

    I find it hard to believe you have your own videogames shop, to me it's like a bog attendant flying Concorde. :)

    Of course I'm always gonna use the data from my store as the basis of my argument, it'd be stupid not to and that data clearly shows it's a girly toy.

    BIAS..

    because...

    It may be a 'girly toy' (which is a very controversial description) at your shop, but that is only ONE SHOP. IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A WORLDWIDE, OR EVEN UK RESULT. Thus, it is BIASED to use it to say that the DS is a 'girly toy'. Also, even if more woman buy it, it would still not be a 'girly toy'. If only woman bought Halo 3 would it be considered a 'girly toy'?

    And please expalin what makes it a 'girly toy', which is a very bad way of saying what you mean anyway.

    So that one example represents a wordwide sale?
    And, without facts, those are just words.

    Any sales. I just want to see hard facts of who buys what and then you have a basis for an argument.

    I don't think you'll find any figures that track who buys what. You'll only find total sales figures, becuase they're the only ones that matter.

    So, thus you have no basis for an argument and this shuldn't have been started in the first place.

    And that is that I have a microstudy of .12% of the UK market.

    I'd say that is a fairly good foundation to base any opinion on.

    Now what are you basing your opinion on?

    Can you present the results to us?

    I am just trying to disproove your theory. Also, if more woman buy something it does not become a 'girly thing'. If only woman bought Halo 3 would it become a 'girly game'?

    Secondly, please define 'girly toy' to me.

    And .12%? Come on. I want 100%

    Heres another analogy...

    Nintendo = Paul Scholes
    Sony = David Beckham

    Knowledgeable people know who the better footballer is. Scholes does his talking on the pitch and nowhere else. The general public go with the flash, image conscious, magazine appearing Beckham and wrongly assume he is the worlds best footballer because he has the most exposure.

    simple innit!

    VIVA Nintendo!

    So, zou're saying a console that can appeal to both girls and boys equally more than its competitior is girly? I don't think so.

    PLus I still think 'girly toy' is a bad choice of words as it's like saying pink is a 'girly' colour. It's like gamingdave or soemone said before. Just because ooption B has less of an appeal to girls than market A doesn't make A a 'grily' option.
