It does! If you own a DS you're either a girl or a gayboy! Get over it already! -

Registered 17 years agoSo you're saying that EVERY girl likes Barbie dolls, pink, Disney Princesses etc.?
Well, I can tell you that that is not true. It's like saying every blonde is braindead. The world is not like that.
And the pink stylus is for Canvas Curve - NOT specifically for girls. -

Nope, you just made it flawed through semantics. Obviosuly Koti did not mean 100% of all girls. -

Thus he has no right to say 'girls like X and Y and A'.
The gaming scene is sometimes very different to the sales in his shop, which he admitted himself, so how can he say, based on his shop, that the DS a 'girly toy'? -

Yes, he does, actually. because he is NOT talking about ALL girls. Just a large aprt of them. That's the way we describe sucha thing. if we all had to be completely precise in our descriptions to argue with you, nobody would. -

I'd say the 360 offered your Big Mac and fries, the PS3 your Harvester chicken fajita special, and your Revolution your Sushi World takeaway.
I hope that analogy isn't that good - last time I went to a Harvester, I got food poisoning

Registered 17 years agoBut the reason I will never admit that the DS is a 'girly toy' (still using your description) is because nothing is a 'girly toy' or a 'boy toy'. It's like saying pink is a girly colour, which it isn't. Those two descriptions incline that the product is purely targeted to those groups, which is complete and utter rubbish.
I think highlighting the fact that the DS sells better to girls than to boys just highlights the fact that the PSP will never be able to do that - a failure on it's part. -

THe former supports your argument, the latter doesn't. It's all about how you put the words, thus I find no credibility in your source.

Registered 18 years agoThen why are you prolonging it? It's painful to read. Let it go...
Personally I liked the Scholes / Beckham comparison and I don't even know much about football.
I also don't know why any PSP or DS thread has to turn into a PSP / DS war. I also don't know why it even happened in this thread which isn't even a DS thread.
Seeing as we're there though, I'm siding with the DS for now until I see some good games for PSP coming out.
I think koti's list of PSP games earlier cited as reasons to get a PSP is crap, it's no fault of his because no good games have come out or are coming out for PSP for the forseeable future. The PSP release schedule is total madness for the discerning gamer. Zero attraction for me, and frankly I'm amazed by that. 31 games and they can only make 1 that is interesting to me?
I love the PSP unit itself, it's really sweet. But I can't even enjoy Wipeout Pure... Lumines is the only game I've played and enjoyed on it. Just utter, utter hogwash.
As for the DS being a girly toy, that's fine - the girls that I know that play games only like the better games anyway. Pink is a girly colour. Girly toys do exist. That's also fine. DS isn't for girls, though, it's for anyone who likes games and doesn't want racer after third-person game after racer first-person game after racer. -

Registered 17 years agoI thought I did by saying I couldn't care any more. I just don't think that it is correct to place toys etc. into categories like 'for boys' and 'for girls'. Football used to be percieved as a men's sport, but now there is woman's football. I know women who didn't play with dolls at all as a child, and a man who did.
It's like saying Disney films are for kids. -

PSP and the DS are both sexy bits of kit. PSP is perhaps sexier, but I'd probably rather have a DS at the moment.
When the PSP has some titles that really work on it, without the load times, perhaps it'll be a different ball game.
Great piece of kit, badly handled by Sony in my opinion.
