    $15 for a stylus? $15? $15???
    Hmm, $15, looks lovely, $15...

Isn't the credit scene minigame still a bit wee for it, or does it cope? Meteos is truly exceptional.

    all-metal Battle Stylus

    Lmao.

This thing is purdy. Makes me want to get a DS just to have a reason to by one.

I reckon Meteos will seal the deal for me. I refuse to import, as the wireless multiplayer is important to me and my non-importing friends.

whats the deal with cross region wireless then. I thought US ds's work with pal ones no?

I just ordered Meteos from tronix

Used them before (imported Wario twisted). Very happy with the service and PRICE ($42.95 inc delivery, or £24.70 (xe.com))

Tax is exempt, as the value of the ITEM is under £20. So it's a great price.

Oh, they're taking orders for Nintendogs BTW, out the 23rd next month IIRC. SDame price as above.

I thought there were issues playing wirelessly cross-region, a-la GBA?

Possibly there is no problem in single cart mode, I really don't know. But I'd rather take my home version and be safe, particularly as I don't even have a DS yet.

im pretty sure its ok, but id wait for someone more informed to comment!

AFAIK the DSs can be cross region, but the games can not. So a US can play against a JAP, as long as they are both using US versions of Meteos, for example.

    So I believe anyway.

That's what I thought. Got stung with that for importing Four Swords on GBA :-(

It's better than the offical stylus in fact. It seems more precise and the nib feels smoother.

/might well be justifying price paid ;)

Well you can stir your tea with it...

I know it's a ludicrous amount to spend on a stylus but it's really, really nice and I don't regret spending it one bit. Even the girlfriend prefers playing with it after initially scoffing at the price I paid so it must be good!

I think the cross-region GAME compatibility is rather hit-and-miss, but the hardware isn't an issue at all. AFAIK, Metroid demos don't like each other, but some other single-cart games have survived the atlantic barrier. It's probably more to do with changes to the network code between release than an explicit "Europe HATE US" bit of code Ninty stick in!

Oh, single cart games have no problem at all, regardless of where the machine is from. It's multi-card play where the issues arise. It basically breaks down as:

Same region DSs, single cart: fine
Different region DSs, single cart: fine
Same region DSs, same region multi-cart: fine
Same region DSs, different region multi-cart: problem (as far as I know)
Different region DSs, same region multi-cart: fine
Different region DSs, different region multi-cart: problem.

So it's all about where the cart is from, and only with regards to multi-cart play. Basically. As far as I'm aware :)

    So to sum up:

Firstly DS system region doesn't matter, it's only game region.

Any DS can play any game from any other region.

Any DS can download and play single cart multi-player from a cart from any other region. (Doesn't matter if it's a 3 player game between DS systems from Japan, USA and Europe)

The only time there are issues when you try and play multi-player multi-card games between DS systems when the GAMES are from different regions

EDIT: So exactly what asphaltcowboy just said ;)

Gah... I'm getting my single/multi mixed up. I meant Multi-cart (i.e. where you all need one). Some games apparently work, some don't.

If you did NOT order these separately, you may have to pay import tax (the total value is over £30 for all the iterms).

However, you probably saved the money on postage anyway.

Just received my copy of Meteos! Thought I'd have a quick game without reading the instructions and it lasted all of 2 minutes. Oh well, time for an extended visit to the loo.
