This match is on Sky Sports very shortly if anyone is interested. I predict a 4-0 defeat. :(

Newcastle make me laugh. They think they're a bigger club than us, when we've got a larger domestic and worldwide fanbase. A more illustrious history and bigger name players (apart from Shearer). Ask yourselves the question, when was the last time Newcastle won 'anything'?

We're better than Celtic, who are now trailing 4-0 to some unknown team .... :D

Newcastle still 1-0 down though :(

Its not just about winning things more recently though, otherwise it means Chelsea are a bigger club than Man U and Liverpool.

They could just as easy throw back when was the last time you were in a cup final, or contention in the league, or champions league, or average attendance over the last 10 years :p

You get me wrong, they've never won anything....ever!

they have no history to speak of.

Spurs won a trophy six years ago.

The difference is, we know we're mid-table, Newcastle genuinely believe they should be challenging for the title. Which is funny.

    lol @ category sid :)

Made me smile...which is more than I can say for what I'm seeing at the mo.

We got nothing from what I can see, and I can't see where the spark is gonna come from.

Each time I see us play at the moment the season ahead looks bleaker and bleaker.

As ever I hope to be proved wrong, but there is no ambition at the club at the present and all souness has done throughout his reign is make excuse after excuse. We are on a road to nowhere at the mo ...

    Which is your team Morriss?

Newcastle United haven't won a major trophy since 1969. We have won 6 FA Cup's, the last one in 1955, we have won 4 league titles the last in 1927. What team would have 52,192 supporters week in week out with shit like this?

Well thats not really true...I had to Google as I was sure they had won something...League Winners in 1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955 (which I hate to point out is four more times than Spurs!) and the European Fairs Cup in 1968/9.

OK, its not alot but its a bit harsh to say they have no history!

dunno about that, spuds seem to have the most optimistic fans ive ever seen. every year its ''one player away from a title challenge''. i dont think ive ever met one who can accept spurs arent going to be challenging for the title within 2 years.

the funniest thing is when you get people 'comparing' spurs lineup with manu/arse/chels and despite a 40+ point gap at the end of the season they think they are better man for man.

Well if he is a Spurs supporter then he's right. Spurs have a much larger domestic and worldwide fan base. Newcastle United represent the Geordie Nation only 1.6 million on Tyneside. While Spurs represent millions without a country.

Edit: My apologies to all Jews and Spurs fans. But if someone is going to make ridiculous statements then I can't help myself. :)

Shepherd only owns about 21% of Newcastle United, The Hall family still have 41%. Now Sir John Hall broadcasts that someone has shown an interest in his shares, suddenly there's movement in the market. Maybe we need something like this to inject finances into the club?

Last I read said that JH had about 21% and FFS had 27% :-(

Here says JH has 28.5% and FFS has 27%

FYI, the only teams 'bigger' than Spurs in England, i.e. larger overall fanbase are Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal.

No.one supports Newcastle outside of the North, no-one supports Chelsea outside of West-London. This is also true of English clubs with a world-wide fan base.

I don't care if you think it's ridiculous mate. It's true. You're big in your own back yard, nowhere else.

..and to someone else who said something earlier, Spurs fans are the most pessimistic bunch I've ever seen. Go to a game, the home fans are the worst critics I've ever heard.

There's enough exile Geordies in London to fill Shite Head Lane twice over, Spurs are shit their fans are shit, get over it. When was the last time Spurs had 52,000 at a home game? What part of London are you from morriss?

Edit: After 2 bad seasons, we've dropped from 6th to this.

when was the last time Spurs had 52,000 at a home game!!??!! lol.

I think you should do your homework mate.

    North East.

I never said Newcastle are shit. Never said your fans are shit. Your manager is, but that's another agrument entirely.
If you don't like that facts that's ok, but you don't need to get nasty now do you? You're older than the rest of us, you should be setting an example.
