| Septmeber comes with Wario Ware: Twisted!, Meteos and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. And in October there's Nintendogs. That's 120 quid... 120 quid which I don't have. So, I was thinking of dropping either Meteos or Advance Wars. So far I'm leaning to not buying the latter, as I still need to complete Advance Wars 2. Your advice? |

Registered 20 years agoFuck Nintendogs. Not got a DS put played it (admittedly had no idea what the fuck I was doing-doesn't help not reading Japanese) on a stand. Looked shit. -
You could always import all three for significantly less than £120 - I recently bought Wario Ware Twisted and Meteos from Videogamesplus for less than fifty quid including shipping. They're both fantastic and heartily recommended, although I've not played Advance Wars yet so I can't really comment on that.
[Edit - Okay, all four - completely missed the comment about Nintendogs]

Well, I obviuosly think incredibly different from you then. Maybe part of the problem was the fact it was in Japanese, and you not understanding it. Thus the bad experience would have come from you, not from the game.
And you can not say Nintendog's isn't cute. Plus, it got a perfect Famitsu score. I think I trust them more than you.
Oh, and I've got Electroplankton coming to me in August. Make that 140 quid.

of those, cut out advance wars first. why can't you buy it later?
also, you are way too easy to start up, jackass.
ds is quite gay, you have to admit.
Where did that come from?.. o.0
And no, I don't think the DS is gay. There are so many things that are wrong with that statment. -

Probably, but I still say its crap. I hate dogs anyway.
So which out of the 20000 different (no, its not a cynical marketing ploy) versions would you go for? ;P -

Which is why I giev your opinion no credibility (no offense). And I'm not sure which version I'd buy. In the end you can unlock all the breeds anyway. -

it came from you asking which game to lose first. since you've already got advance wars 2 I figure the ds version can wait a while. all the others are completely unique experiences.
I don't think you realise what I'm telling you here by saying the ds is gay. come on, think about it. don't you agree?
I asked you to pick one of two games, you did, and I thankyou for that inpit.
But then you say I get worked up all too easily and call me a jackass = not necessary.
Then you say the DS is gay, which I don't think it is. I could go on for hours disecting that statement, but I'd rather not.

Registered 20 years agoI wouldn't call it gay, just transexual. Though I did enjoy you paper on "The Sexuality of Nintendo (and all the tiny contraptions they produce, but never seem to sell because their marketing isn't so forceful)" in Nature, Dr Vermin. -

the new realtime mode in aw
s is awesome btw. only tried it once, and way too briefly, but just awesome.
come on now, you telling me this thing isn't warming the ham?
There's a real-time mode?! I think I saw a clip of it in a trailor for Advance Wars: DS...
And that's a DS with a more girl oriented colour scheme....

Registered 18 years agoThe DS is more of a nullo thing really. I think it has a prostate remnant and if you touch it for long enough, the DS has a kind of orgasm.
I'd say drop Nintendogs but then I have no interest in the title. Vermin's right, a man in your position should drop AWDS.
Also, you are pretty easy to troll. Lighten up a bit, don't take things so seriously. Suggested responses to "The DS is gay":
"If you look at how the two screens rub together when the unit is closed I thnk you'll find something deeply sensual, as though one screen were male and the other female."
"no, you are"
Or just ignore it. -

Oh and get your stuff from Tronix.
Brilliant site. -

Not heard of this site before, but there's some pretty bargainsome stuff to be had (Meteos is a shade over £17). Have you used them much before? What are they like for shipping times and import duty malarkey? -

Registered 17 years agoYeah I am - they are seriously brilliant and for some reason don't ahve the rep they deserve yet (compared to lik-sang and play-asia for example). In answer to your question nekotcha - used them last week. Ordered Meteos, Kirby and Bomberman + $15 for international fedex. I put the order in late Monday/early Tuesday. Shipped the same day and arrived by Thursday. Didn't get hit with import tax - I think they marked it down. They've got a great customer service and response time to emails as well.
Will definitely be using them again, can't recommend them highly enough. -

Gerg, Nintendogs is gay. And you are stupid. The other day you said pink wasnt a girls colour, yet here you are today, saying a pink DS has a more girl oriented colour scheme.... man, you truly are an idiot. You don't even know the meaning of the word Gay.

2. deem, Famitsu gave Nintendogs 40/40. Plus it's also sold 421,540 copies, and thats in Japan only. Surely that many people cannot be wrong.
I wouldn't throw that around as evidence. Japanese society is the most metrosexual I've seen so far. Easily beats out the Italians. They're into alsorts of weird shit. -

Registered 17 years agocool. Thanks for all the input. I'll probably end up not buying the Advance Wars. It doesn't seem to be as a unique experience as the others.

Okay, when I said 'girl oriented', I meant that the colour was mostly used when marketed towards girls. BUT that doesn't mean it's a girly colour, and marketed ONLY towards girls. It's like saying Pixar films are ONLY marketed twoards children, which they're not. Sure, their main target may be children, but it is a FACT that they are also targeted towards adults.
Secondly, NEVER bring sexuality into an argument, you-ll just dig yourself a bigger hole. Please define a universal meaning for the word 'gay' that everyone can agree on. That word is so overused it has lost all meaning. What do you mean by saying a DS is 'gay'? That statement means nothing. -
