Damn you Team17, couldn't you code a version as an 'internal project' and then 'accidentally' leak it?

Anyway, till then here are 3 ways to get Lemmings running, albeit sans stylus control, on the DS/GBA.

    Method 1: DrSMS
Just load up the Sega Master System/Game Gear rom into DrSMS for the GBA, and away you go.

    Advatanges:
    - Game Gear version is already optimized for a small screen
    - Master System version is well scaled
    - Save anywhere!

    Disadvantages:
    - sound quality isn't the best

    Method 2: SMS Advance
Another SMS/GG emu, except this one is brand new, still under development and comes courtesy of the guy responsible for the GB/PCEngine emus for GBA. As before just load up the Sega Master System/Game Gear rom into the emu and you're off.

    Advatanges:
    - Game Gear version is already optimized for a small screen
    - Master System version is well scaled
    - Better speed and sound than DrSMS

    Disadvantages:
    - no saving. yet.

Method 2: Lemmings remake for GBA
I only just found out about this today. It's still under development and I've only tried it quickly here at work on VBA, but this has great potential.

    Advantages:
    - Graphics are properly formatted for the GBA
    - 4 button controls!
    - A more modern style of presentation

    Disadvantages:
    - incomplete!

As you can tell, I love Lemmings :)

I feel sure someone will make a version of it soon. What's the deal with things like the Javascript version, are those illegal? I assume they are.

I don't get the attraction, personally. Lemmings was something I used up in the Atari days and I can't see myself ever wanting to play it again.

Really? When it came out I was really affected by it, because it pushed gameplay in an area I'd never considered before, had great music, and the Lemmings themselves were great characters.

I don't think it will be considered legal, especially with a PSP version coming out very soon, but the remake I posted above is absolutely bloody fantastic. Controls are spot on, and the music, my GOD the music, it seems to be taken from the Amiga version and not the crappy midis from the PC version! Anyone with an interest in the game should definitely give it a try. Here's to hoping the author decides to port it over to the DS with touchscreen controls one day.

Not a legal one as the guess which company owns the lemmings IP..?

It's Sony. So no DS version ever. :(

You can play Lemmings on lots of PDAs in all its touch-screen glory. The game was made for those things. Dunno really what you'd do with the second screen on a DS...
