Registered 18 years agoWell since England are going to try for it, thought I might aswell start a thread (since I started the 2006 one too!).
Personally I think its a non-starter. What with the Olympics and the fact we really pissed of the Germans, I really cant see us pulling it off.
/will check this thread in 13 years time to see if he's right or wrong. -

That, frankly, is the biggest crock of shit I've ever witnessed. -
New Spurs is not being built to the specs required for it to host WC games I think. -

Registered 17 years agoI'm genuinely pissed off with Hillsborough. It's a knackered old cow shed of a ground, stuck out in the middle of shitsville, famous for being the ground where a load of fans died it's so good.
Whereas by 2018, we'll have a state of the art 40,000+ stadium right next to the train station and city centre.
Oh yeah...AND the fucking rules of fucking football itself were written right in our fucking boardroom! I'd have thought that might be a good selling point for the bid! -
They MUST be redoing it for Hillsborough to get it.
That's assuming we get it. -

Cunts. I don't think we'll get the WC 2018. -

Registered 20 years agoIf we don't get it it's only one institute's fault... FIFA's. Vicious, spiteful shits don't like their corrupt organisation being unraveled. -

Registered 18 years agoWhat's the big deal. They are a corrupt bunch. How will it taint them in any way. Everyone knows what they are like even before the recent stuff happened. I guess FIFA might live in their own little world and think people haven't noticed. The Russians have probably back handed their way to it anyway. -

Registered 20 years agoThe winning of the bid requires laws to be changed and massive tax exemptions for FIFA and their corporate chums? Good on the Dutch for putting that information out into the public domain, let alone even more FIFA arseholes being on the take at the highest level.
Tear down FIFA and start again. -

Only way. I don't trust them to clear house themselves. Awful bunch. UEFA too.
