    Peak Brazilian Ronaldo >>>>> everyone

Saturday mornings with Football Italia watching R9 take apart the best defenses in the world was bliss.

That goal he scored against Chelsea from a dead ball in open play will always stand out as probably my favourite ever. The man is an absolute genius but as seems to be the case a lot with these types he pissed most of his potential putting his lifestyle ahead of his professionalism. I mean you can't blame the guy but selfishly I'd love to have seen what he could have been.

and yeah, I think had the original Ronaldo not been unlucky with some terrible injuries he'd be up there even more than he is. Don't think I've ever seen a better player at his absolute peak. Completely unplayable.

Yeah, the impressive thing with Messi for me is that he makes it look so easy. His close control is mesmerising and he just glides past people, then you get to his passing, particularly inside, and the weight is just perfect. Brilliant, brilliant player.
Yeah, watching him waltz into a crowd of defenders and pop back out with them looking bemused before rifling it home, will never cease to amaze.

I do think though that his dribbling skills also divert attention away from his wider game. He's known as a dribbler and goalscorer, but he'll also pull off 30 Pirlo or Scholes type passes every game. If he was a midfielder and never scored a goal, people would be calling him the greatest playmaker of all time. The fact that he's also the greatest goalscorer of all time on top of that is o_O

Moyes would be a depressing choice.

If you can look past the dodginess, I think Allardyce could be a good, realistic option.

Denmark, can't complain about that at all. If Eriksen could just get injured before the games that would be great.

    NI v Switzerland
    RoI v Denmark
    Croatia v Greece
    Italy v Sweden

I'm looking forward to an England win to evoke the spirit of Normandy.

I hope the band are playing too.

Whilst it is a bit sad for Buffon, it's absolutely fucking hilarious in every other way. Conte to return?

Applause for the young players of England. Against the two best teams in the world, they survived a trial by fire that saw them in at the deep end.
