Everyone knows about how good Celeste, Dead Cells, Slay the Spire, Into the Breach and Hollow Knight are. These are really high profile Indie titles that get plenty of exposure. However, a post in the Switch thread for a game titled Paradise Killer made me realise that the glut of games on the eshop mean some really interesting indie titles may be getting completely overlooked. I bought the game as it’s currently on sale in the US eshop and I can’t wait to get started on it. So any other suggestions of overlooked indie titles on the Switch that are worth checking out? |

Registered 8 years agoSteredenn - excellent rogue like side scrolling shoot 'em up. It's included in a bundle of three games called Indie Gems; currently $6 in the American Eshop.
Fight 'n Rage - imo the best scrolling beat 'em up. Different paths, juggling combos, loads to unlock. I've played it for 20 hours and still nowhere near unlocking everything. -

You have your usual big hitters but he does show off a lot of lesser known titles as well, Paradise Killer being one of them. I think he is on number 23 in that series so that’s a 230 games! I found Get indie gaming, Switch up and switch Watch have good indie coverage for the switch too. Think Switch Watch is the brain child of a semi forum regular too, Guy named Jordan.
As for personal recommendations, can’t think of the top of the my head but I enjoyed Graceful Explosion Machine, a 2d side scrolling shoot em up that is a joy to play. Box Boy Box Girl a 2d puzzler from Hal laboratory where you have
to use a certain amount of boxes to traverse a level. It’s got plenty of charm and just relaxing to play. Mini metro is great too, sunk 40 hours into a trying to get the right passengers to the right train stations, all presented in a nice London Underground art aesthetic.

I really liked Mr Shifty. You basically play Nightcrawler from Xmen 2.
