Registered 17 years agoI got there in the end, 2 hours queuing. I couldn't post updates as my phone was about to die, and I needed to show the butcher the photo of the order number. Plus I couldn't feel my fingers. I know people exaggerate and say things like "OMG I couldn't feel my hands etc" but I honestly completely lost all sensation in 3 fingers on my left hand and 2 on my right hand. I get Raynauds pretty badly in general but this time it was significant.
Home now! 2 beers in me and another on the go. Happy christmas! -
@smoothpete The brave adventurer has returned, everyone!
(I think he's bravely hiding the fact that he had to eat several of his own fingers
)
A well earned drink! -

Registered 13 years agoIf those fingers had liberally applied mustard to the anus before, or during, queuing, they'd have been nice and warm. -

Registered 18 years agoI usually take my father in law to the pub Christmas Eve (as I used to my dad). Going to miss that this year, so thought I'd make an early start at home. -

Registered 17 years agoI filled a chicken's cavity with strong beer this afternoon and smeared the rest in a special blend of whatever the fuck was in my spice cupboard. I'm gonna cook it long and slow tomorrow, oooh yeah.

Registered 20 years agoWaitrose sell off all the uncollected Christmas orders half price on Christmas Eve, so this evening we had a stuffed roast duck, potato gratin and red cabbage. Very nice. -

Lovely.
Another couple of hours until the main. It's beef this year by family agreement since it doesn't really feel like xmas.
Nice to just stay at home instead of going somewhere, or the mania of having the family round. -
