Yeah that’s right this will be sold continuously. It’s 3D All stars that will apparently stop being sold next month.
I’m right in thinking this isn’t a limited release right? -

Registered 14 years agoOK 3D world is decent. Better than I gave it credit for, its still not a proper 3D mario but its tight and inventive enough so far. I'm half way through world 4 and enjoying it.
I'm glad I've so recently played galaxy that I can say it's not at that level (not even close imo) but it's very good.
Will go to Bowsers fury once I've completed this, that probably just means story completion rather than true completion but I've already stuck with it longer than I did the first time I tried it.

Registered 10 months agoYeah I agree it a very good game but isn’t quite at the level of the top Mario games like odyssey / galaxy. Definitely worth playing though. -

Registered 3 years agoIs this one worth getting again for Wii U owners? I’m on the fence. Loved the original and still have that version hooked up to the telly. Do the changes and additions amount to much? -

Registered 14 years agoAnd I was wrong I had gone further into at least world 5 as I remember the level I'm playing right now with the bobombs.
Either way, it's pretty good... despite the 8 way movement ;P -

I'm playing it again. It's nice not having to switch to the tablet controller every few levels. And the Joycons are better than dealing with Wiimotes for multilpayer IMO. But other than that it's just 1080p instead of 720p

Registered 14 years agoI prefer this to Galaxy I think. I think Galaxy is a better made game but this just suits me I guess.
At the end of the day Galaxy still involved waggle and pointing and shooting -

Registered 3 years ago@Psiloc I revisited Galaxy recently, getting every star, and although the magic is still well and truly there it has aged poorly in some minor respects. Mario feels oddly stiff compared to many of the other 3D iterations, and takes seemingly an age to pick himself off of the floor after a hit.
3D world on Wii U just felt perfectly formed to me. There is little of the bloat of Oddysey, levels are short and snappy and it’s a welcome refocus on pure platforming. The multiplayer is genuinely fun too. -

I'd say a brand new expansion would make it worth getting, even if you own the Wii U version? It's a far more significant amount of content than any other Wii U to Switch port has had so far.

Registered 8 years agoI'm playing through Galaxy at the moment (first time) but it is taking me an age as I have not been grabbed by it at all. Picked it up today (first session in about 3 or 4 weeks) and have gone from 34 stars to 42 stars and am just not feeling the must play more urge. It is fine here and there, and I guess fits a short play session well, yet I just havent bothered much with it despite getting 3d all stars on release day (I first played mario 64 and got about 30 of the stars before switching to galaxy).
I think I much prefer 3d world because of the run to the flag format. The 3d mario explore a zone was great in odyssey but I find the gameplay of galaxy far too slow... for example the levels which have multiple stars hidden would be much better if I could collect them all in one play through. -

Registered 9 years agoAbsolutely loving Bowser’s Fury. I haven’t played anything but Ori this year, and not very much of it. But a new Mario game is the palette cleanser I need. -

Registered 8 years ago@Psiloc I have not. Both passed me by on the Wii some how. I have it on WiiU (bought the double release and never played them... was kind of hoping Galaxy would be so fun I would be eager to start Galaxy 2. -

3D world is better than I gave it credit for but I think the size and scope of land was absolutely prefect -

Registered 14 years agoYeah all I know is I bounced off Galaxy 1, and then delayed playing Galaxy 2 until about a decade after its release date and loved it.
Most people seem to think 1 is better but 2 fixed a lot of stuff that bugged me -

@minky-kong I didn't use Simply but I ordered a second copy for my son from Shopto's Ebay outlet and that still hasn't arrived. Estimated delivery is the 22nd.
I know Covid and stuff but it's not great.
