Registered 17 years agoIt's Massive, they're using Snowdrop. So it's The Division in Star Wars land. I mean... that sounds OK to me. -

Perfect excuse really...

"Keep an eye out for 'Force convergence points'!
Here you can see The Force make objects intersect, make dialogue heard before character lips move and bend midiclorians into the now famous 'Failed to start multiplayer session' anomaly." -

Registered 15 years agoIs it safe to assume that it'll be a live service game, on account of it being by the devs that made The Division? -

Registered 17 years agoThe Division's co-op merged with deathmatch style multiplayer in a Star Wars setting? Bring it on! It's not quite the same as the Ass Creed/Far Cry homogenisation - The Division at least has its own feel. And admittedly its own bucketload of shit, but I'm more excited for this than EA shitting out another Battlefront that's for sure. -

Registered 17 years agoMassive build amazingly detailed worlds, New York and Washington are incredible and the division 2 is pretty much a master class in UI.
It's promising news. -

I haven’t knowingly played a Ubisoft game in years much less bought one. I honestly would rather have another EA game. Their entire slate is just miserable.

Registered 7 years agoI think the first Far Cry was the only Ubisoft game I ever finished.
They're all such slogs.

Registered 17 years agoWhat's nice about all these recent announcements is that we'll get a meritocracy (or at least a revenue-tocracy) in the games being made. Respawn get a sequel 'cos their games were good, Battlefront maybe not so much because of the controversy. Now there's Machine Games and Massive in there as well, and who know what else is waiting in the wings.
Different publishers, different teams, different engines - it could be cool! -

Would like to see a grittier take on the Star Wars universe than Jedi:Fallen Order -

Registered 3 weeks agoUbisoft + Open World? Hell no. I had enough of that drivel with Origins and Odyssey. Won't even play Valhalla and future AC instalments. -

Registered 17 years agoDon't forget that the primary creative force behind all that homogenisation was let go as part of the sexual harassment gubbins last year - or at least if memory serves they were. Not that Massive were ever really a part of that - The Division definitely had icon creep, but it was a different gameplay loop than the other open worlders at least.
I'm not as much of a Ubi-hater as most on here, I actually dig the Ass Creed and Far Cry loops, homogenisation and all, so I'm looking forward to this. -

Better than most of the other open world devs at least. -

Registered 9 years agoI’m not exactly thrilled with this announcement. I’m curious but after bouncing off fairly hard of both div 1 & 2 (yes I went back!) I think I’ll wait and see.
That said I found both dull due to the unexciting current world setting, rinse and repeat combat and bland looking loot.
Star ways may be able to elevate some of that a bit maybe. -

Registered 15 years agoIt’s not even Ubisoft hate. They have released the same three games every year, in one way or the other, every year for over a decade.
I don’t hate them its just that I genuinely couldn’t care less about their games and it’s pretty likely this will just be another one of their open worlds in a Star Wars dress. -

Registered 14 years agoCannot wait to replay the same missions until my eyes bleed for, +2 force power on my Jedi knee pads, that look the same as every other pair of knee pads.
Well I guess The Division is alright for quite a while, until you get to the fine tune your stats stage, which applies to a lot of games really. -

Registered 15 years agoI mean, it’s not entirely unique. Fallen order is the first EA game I’ve played in a dogs age. I couldn’t give a crap about most of their games, either. -

Registered 18 years agoSeems they're being quite even handed with dishing out these Lucasarts licenses. Maybe seeing who can deliver and stick with them, I don't know.
Shame Dice's games were a bit shit and rushed, they by far have the best multiplayer engine out there.
ed: Actually these are maybe single player games, doesn't make sense to give them to Dice if so.

Does Lucasarts still own Monkey Island?
