Looking for info on an old DS game someone claimed to be making

So, I've been trying to dig up info on a game I read about back when the DS was new, or perhaps not even out yet. But the internet is not giving me anything, and I'm starting to believe that I'm making it all up in my head. I'll try to describe what little I do remember, and hopefully some of you will be able to fill in the details and probably correct me.

There was a guy who claimed to be making his own game for the DS, he even claimed that he had some license or deal with Nintendo. The way I remember it he was not shy about making promises about the game's quality and ambition. This, combined with the fact that he was writing himself as the main character, led to a great deal of scepticism to the validity of the project. There were some screenshots eventually, and I seem to remember a mockup of a DS game cover with the sprite art of the main character. I remember the game to be a Super Nintendo RPG style game with heavy emphasis on story and dialogue, and purportedly limitless choices. The setting was contemporary and realistic, but very goth/emo - something that was reflected in the main character's hair and black clothes. And sombre dialogue in the screenshots.

All this info was presented on his own website, but I can't remember where the discussion about the game took place, possibly on a forum on the same site, or maybe even here on eurogamer or old joystiq.com. The name of the game was "-Developer's first name-'s Game". None of the names I have tried has led me anywhere, so I won't suggest any of them.

Needless to say, the game never turned up. If anyone remembers more than I do about the whole thing I'd love to hear it. I don't know if the game and its creator just drifted back into obscurity or if it ended in some kind of controversy, but it's really bugging me that I only half remember it..

@KraftWerk Bob's Game is the only one I can think about.

Sounds like a trainwreck, but it did eventually get a Steam release? Except it's nothing like a RPG. Wikipedia seems to have more info on that.
