That's what swayed me. I fucking love RE and have been trying to convince myself otherwise and failed.

I was thinking of replaying 7 in prep but I've got too many games in my backlog...

Iíve played 0 and 4 this year. Trying to work through all the Resi games that were released on Xbox One.

I keep thinking I should do 5 and 6 again one day because I didnít like either and theyíve got such bad reputations but my love of the series makes me want to revaluate them now Iíve got some distance.

I actually love 6. Think it's a fantastic game, especially in co-op with a friend.

RE6 though... it's not great, and it doesn't help that the first quarter of the game is the worst out of all of it.

I did start 6 a few months back but it's pretty poo. Didn't even finish Leon's campaign.

I am tempted to see if I can reinstall and blitz 7 next week as I haven't played it for ages. Played RE2 & 3 remakes copiusly at the start of the year mind you though so maybe best not to burn out first.

Or maybe I'll just try a bit more of 6.

I replayed 7 a month or so back and loved it more so than the first time round. Even liked the much maligned boat segment. A lot shorter than I remembered and is a nice change of pace from what came before it, which is pretty intense. Just seemed to flow a lot better second time round. Think anyone would be able to complete it over the course of the next week. Not to long a game.

Same, I finished 7 about a month ago again, gearing up for 8's release. Still a fantastic game. And quite swish looking too.

I attempte 5 again late last year as I played it to death on release, but found it a bit of a slog 11 years later. Maybe need another crack at it.

The one thing I would change about 7 is I would remove the final boss. It makes much more sense in the context of the games narrative if it just ended when you attack the old woman instead of having her then turn into an enormous tentacle beast. You could then have her telekenetic type shockwave blow the house down and Redfield turn up to pick you out of the rubble.

As much fun as the first person shooter and punching DLCs were I donít include them in my personal canon. The lost tapes are in though.

I liked the boat. It ties it to the rest of the series without putting a multibillion moon base in the barn like they would have in the earlier games. Plus it was good to be scared and powerless again after a couple of hours of shotgun safety.

2 came out at the same time as Baby Maybe was born so I just played it over and over watching him nap during paternity leave*. I need to put more time into 3.

Just finished the village demo. It tries a bit too hard to ape RE4 in the very first area. But with very few strong enemies instead of being swarmed by many weak ones, it didn't work nearly as well.

Tried on PC and Series S. The mouse controls on PC feel pretty bad, and on ultrawide the FOV is too narrow, obviously it was less of an issue in RE2 because of the third person but it bothers me a bit here. On the other hand, it looks good and runs well enough even on my RX 480, as long as I keep the settings on low-medium.

On Series S, ray tracing mode runs at 30fps and it feels terrible. With ray tracing off, it was a pretty stable 60fps throughout. Luckily that whole 45fps thing turned out to be nonsense.

Played and completed REmake3 over a couple of days last week. I remembered hardly anything. Did loads get changed? Also it is so short.

Onto 8, I have it Preordered and look forward to going in cold. I always prefer third person, but 7 did work very well, so I'm expecting the same.

Both versions are quite short but I think this is the most different of the three remakes. More linear and action focussed

I didnt realise the demo was back up on ps4 and now you can do either the castle or village and for an hour instead. It was quite nice to relax a bit and have a proper look around.
I wouldnt say I'm blown away by it. Its pretty much exacty what you'd expect but I'm fine with that. Another resi 7 in a gothic setting with more expansive enviroments is okay by me.

How long is the hour demo up?

I think Iíll do Village since that was the one I was least impressed by. Maybe feeling hurried meant I wasnít taking it in properly. I tend to play Resi very slowly usually.

You can play the hour anytime up to the 9th, I believe.

Is the demo hour lifted from the game or its own thing?

Think I'd rather just play it all through at once.

Just played the Village and was pretty impressed.

I'm getting more RE4 vibes from this than 7. Particularly the amount of ammo I found.

    Nothing wrong with that 😊

I preferred the castle demo for sure. I like the exploring and puzzle solving it promises, reminds me of re1 and 2.

Yeah, and that weird lurch they do every time you get a bead on them is going to be fucking annoying.

It's definitely lifted from the game. Multiple cut scenes with lots of story dialogue.

Replaying the village demo with a better idea of what to expect Iím enjoying it a lot more than first time around.

Iím still not 100% the RE4 vibe and C19th peasants are a bit jarring but Iím sure thereíll be some explanation down the line.
