RE4 is my favourite game of all time, clunky controls and all. I loved the cheesy b-movie plot. Haven't played any resi games since.

Not sure what this one is supposed to be, the trailer didn't really do it for me.

It's supposed to be AWESOME don't you know, Tonka. You really need to play yourself some resi.

Bit surprising - going by the village demo, this feels the closest Resident Evil has felt to 4 since, well, 4. I've nto seen the trailer you refer to, mind.

    I'm probably in the minority here, but I prefer 1 & 4. I don't like 2, or 3. And after 4, I thought 5 and 6 were just a bit crap.

I liked 7, and I'm hoping 8 will have more 1 vibes about it, but we'll see.

Personally, I'd rate the 2 remake as the best RE we've ever had. 4 was good in its day, but has aged badly.

No one talks about the RE Revelations games.

I only played 4 for the first time ever last year, or maybe the year before. Didn't think I'd like it at the start but ended up loving the shit out of it. Apart from maybe the last section after the castle mind you, seemed to drag on a bit.

Maybe it'll be channelling RE1 & 4 with elements of 7? The village / castle idea with merchant from 4, the interior of the castle is like 1's mansion, and all of 7's good bits thrown in. That could be the daddy-o right there.

I really enjoyed the first Revelations. I bought 2 but have never actually fired it up. I've got every Resident Evil in my PS4 / 5 games library (Well, the main series plus 0 and both Rev games) but I just never got around to playing through them all like I had hoped. I blame 6. It was going great til I started that.

Iím a big apologist for both. All the stuff on the ship is almost classic Resi and the asynchronous story telling is a nice twist in the second.

Both have their problems but theyíre better than 5 and 6.

I enjoyed both Revelations games. The Horde mode, or whatever it's called, got a serious grinding on both occasions.

I replayed 4 last year and didnít think it aged badly at all. Pretty much laid down the foundations for modern Resi and found it quite easy to go back too.

Agree with 2 remake being the best Resi weíve ever had. Lighting effects and graphical prowess really help elevate an already great game into a stunning one.

    Think I would say, 2,1,7,4,5,3.

I replayed one remake last year too and I really enjoyed it. Itís such a tight game and you can really see itís influence on a lot of games. Quite an interesting game in that regard. The atmosphere in it is great.

I never got round to playing 6 and yet to play 3remake.

The 3 remake is basically just an action focussed expansion of 2. Its quite short but a lot of fun once it gets going.

Yeah, I nearly put the remake down, but it's still the core game to me. It's not bad by any means - I'm just super biased on haunted mansions and castles etc.

I keep trying to play 4 again on various platforms and peripherals, but the wii version's controls were difficult to beat. Looks shite though now, agreed. Atmosphere holds it up though for me.

I quite enjoyed the castle demo until I ran into the fly-infested woman (I guess that was Lady Dimitrescu) and I unloaded all my ammo in her face, and then she killed me anyway. What was I supposed to do there? I've only played the 2 remake so I'm probably doing RE wrong.

Pretty similar to 7 I imagine. A lot of learning when to run and fight. For me I find it more scary when you can't kill someone.

Yeah, knowing when to pick and choose your battles feels like its becoming a much bigger feature of the series over the last few games

I completed RE4 on PS4 last week and RE2 remake this weekend just gone. Both were in incredibly good with RE4 still just as playable

Have to say that I love them all with the exception of #6, which absolutely stinks

Funny enough, I also played through RE4 this year. I do think the controls can take a bit of getting used to. But you soon get over it.
I know Iím in the minority, but Iím not getting RE4 vibes from Village. I appreciate the comparisons that people are making, but Village just really feels like itís own thing to me.

I didnít realise that Mercenaries mode is included on this. Seems very similar to previous versions, but you start off at the shop and choose a load out. Thereís a stripped down perk system to improve melee or pistols.
    Looks really good. Love Mercs.

I love, LOVED CV at release. But tried it again a year or so ago and admit I struggled with it.
Sentimentality is a hell of a thing.
