Geraint Thomas has a podcast apparently.
Been listening to it for a bit. It's sometimes a bit 'dry', but the guests can be interesting to listen to.

Tom Boonen & Chris Hoy have been my favourite guests so far, Laura Trott was not bad either, and it was interesting listening to his wife chat about going through the emotional mangle during the crashes discussion.

I assume the run-up to this coming Sunday is less intense n the UK?

The week started with 'De Ronde 104' a behind-the-scenes look. It's not yet available outside of Belgium but you can watch De Ronde 103 to get in the mood if you feel like it.

(De Rond 100-101-102 are also worth a watch!)

Then there's hour-long talkshow every evening where they discuss cycling and look ahead towards Sunday, usually with ex-winners, ex-cyclists and ex-team coaches.

    Not long now!

Absolutely nothing. Unless you like fucking football, rugby or horses running around a field you aren’t catered to by anything mainstream for sport in the UK.

Oh, that’s cool that the documentary for last years is now almost available. I think they’re really well done. Is the Jumbo documentary available or was that TV only?

I haven't seen the Jumbo one. I think it was Dutch TV only.

Bad news for Stybar. Minor surgery for cardiac arrhythmias.
He was in amazing form these last few weeks.

What? Multiple countries managed to put racing on under Covid restrictions but France surrendered??

    It seemed almost inevitable, no?

Sounded silly at first, with races happening just across the border in Belgium. One good argument I heard though was that the hospitals in that region are at full capacity, so if a rider gets seriously injured, they'd struggle to get him seen to within an acceptable time frame. So, fair enough I guess.

I think the person filming this probably has a cold now.

He's a knob. I doubt you'd find anyone in the peloton that agrees with him.

I'm waiting for an interview with Mathieu. What the hell happened? Cramps? Mechanical problem?

He just stopped sprinting and shook his head at 70m to go.

@Salaman Nothing up, just Mvdp had a 5 second sprint left in him, and that was it, wasn't enough and Asgreen had more in the tank.

Not really spoilery Poor chap got chucked off the race

Meanwhile bigger names at the front of the peleton chuck bottles where they like and not even a fine, UCI strikes again!

Felt sorry for MvdP there, but he was still able to congratulate the winner which was nice. After he blew, his reaction was certainly frustration before he crossed the line. I bit the air was blue!

He just blew up at the wrong time.

I was surprised he went in front just before the flamme rouge. Set himself up for losing it really.

Maybe thought he had a better kick left, then found out he didn't.

Yeah, be just ran out of steam.
I've never seen him not sprint all the way to the finish. Him sitting up suddenly caught me by surprise and there was no Replay until way after the podium ceremony.

Silly stuff disqualifying people for chucking a bottle. I saw the footage, he threw it at some people's feet. It was picked up within a second. It's not like he lobbed it into a pasture or something.

30km to go after the last proper climb and the last 1.5k are straight as an arrow.

A hattrick! Happy for the guy.

I didn't see any footage of the crash but you can see the whole pack stood there in the background at about 200m to go.
