Registered 16 years agoAmazing. Can’t believe he was riding his last race a year ago, don’t see anyone beating him in a straight sprint this Tour -

Registered 13 years agoGood stuff. Think they said 5 sprint stages to go, so he could possibly actually do it.
That'd certainly be something I don't think many/anyone would have expected! -

Registered 15 years agoThey might need to literally push him up some mountains, though I guess if nothing else he's got motivation. -

Registered 15 years agoFucking loved seeing those two sprint trains head to head, majestic bastards.
I think Cav actually peeled off the Alpecin line at the end and just came right around them. -

He did. He was saying the post-race interview that the wind was coming from the front right and Morkov left him a small gap to the left so he could launch himself through that gap, next to the barriers.

Cav wanted to wait a fraction of a second longer before he came out of the wheel, so he decided to switch over and tag on the back of the Alpecin train.
The split-second decisions these guys have to make in the middle of that chaos. -

Interesting development. That's a big group with 18 different teams out in front. Pogacar's team is going to be doing a lot of work today.

Registered 15 years agoGutted for G. I guess that's it for him now, both in terms of this year and future years.
Lachlan going well in the alt tour, though apparently he had to swap his sandals for flipflops.

Did you see him yesterday? Attacked with 18k or so to go to try and gain some time and Movistar started pulling to reel him in (he left team Movistar on bad terms) and they caught him 5 meters before the finish line.

All efforts in vain.
There's some world class grudges in cycling. Movistar did something similar in the Vuelta last year. -

Registered 16 years agoYeah, Movistar are bonkers. MAL got fucked over today after he fell; Valverde was left to freeze and dropped back to the autobus. But at least Mas stayed in the group and finished a spot ahead of Carapaz to leave him 15 seconds behind… -
