@crashVoodoo that's impressive! I assume that the logistics towers bring the materials in to make the cubes and then shipping the completed cubes out again.

@Flying_Pig yeah exactly that as they handle 3 items. Set the cube I want as supply so once made they're shipped out. Then add the 2 materials to make the cube as demand and limit to 500 or so then just add drones.

I have the seperate 'wheel of fortune' as the research station that demands the cubes.

Rebuilt my hydrogen fractioning setup and expanded it as I'm literally drowning in hydrogen and it's locking up my refined oil setup.

    Go big edition

If you have too much hydrogen you can always burn it for power or run it into the particle collider.

well I looked ahead in the tech tree I need dueteron fuel rods for the dyson sphere rockets so it'll come in handy.

its also used to make strange matter according to the replicator so I'm guessing it'll come in handy for whatever they're for

Yeah, but I would suggest using the mini particle collider for that, only 1 in every 100 hydrogen gets converted to deuterium in a fractionator. It takes an eternity to burn through your supplies and to generate any decent amount of deuterium.

I think the fractionator is better both from a volume perspective but also with power draw as well.

The particle collider takes 5 seconds to convert 10 to 2 but this is a fixed speed as it requires loading by sorter.

The fractionator is belt fed so can operate at 30 p/s. In 3.3 seconds it can put 100 through and get 1 deuterium out. However it has a smaller footprint than the collider so I can line them up closely meaning that I can belt hydrogen through a line of these and get a good volume out.

Additionally, the power requirement to run these is 720kw per unit vs 12mw for collider. I can run 16 machines for the same power cost as one collider

Now as they're on a belt and constantly running, in 3.3 seconds that is potentially 3 deuterium per machine for ~48 output* for the same power cost.

*I say circa 48 but with each hydrogen converted it's one less moving through to the next machine. This is why i have the splitters on the edge to keep filling in the spaces

I think you are putting a little bit more thought into this than me :)

Made it to red matrices! Got a nice little line of 8 oil refineries chugging out hydrogen, ploughing through all the blue and red matrix research nodes. Just banking the refined oil by-product for the moment, will find something to do with it later.

Yeah, you'll definitely be needing it shortly :)

I love how you go from "How the hell do I make enough Hydrogen" to "How the hell do I use up all this Hydrogen so my production line doesen't stall" in this game:)

What will tickle your pickle later is that fact that all the hydrogen is then required again 🤭 as I'm now hosing through it trying to create crystals. Had to setup orbital collection.

I created the process to convert loads to deuterium to ease by stock however, I've started to run into power issues as I'm using up the batteries before the next shipment arrives. I decided to bring forward my deuteron rod production plans.

I now ship deuterium off planet to turn into rods where I'm also belting a load through the fusion reactor to boost the power gen off world to increase charge on the batteries.

I could start just shipping dueteron rods around and have a load of reactors but the power output is only 9mw compared to 45 for an exchanger. It's still more efficient to charge the batteries I just need to increase power gen to charge them faster

So I've finally unlocked purple cubes, but damn, they're gonna demand a serious amount of construction for me to make the fibre optics I need. I also need to seriously increase my processor production to boot.

I've also set up a new manufacturing centre for all of the key buildings - making full use of the planetary logistics towers. I'm also likely to just use my lava planet for the resources -shipping everything to my home planet.

Just clicking in at 30 hours so far, and I'm still eager to play more!

I fucked up earlier. I added matrix labs to my 'mall' setup but forgot to limit it. I now have 2.5k of the buggers just sat eating space up

Yeah it's a mod call multibuild and it's very professional. Can even create and import blueprints for whole setups.
It'll even copy all the sorters of the belts are in place

    https://dsp.thunderstore.io/

Download r2modman that's pinned. Once installed you can download multibuild from inside.

Started towards the green jellies but the quantum chips are a bugger to churn out at the moment. The whole 'chip' side of production is stunted by silicon. I've had to go back to the lava planet and expand the shit out of the silicon smelting.

I've also got lines of charged glowing batteries. Plenty of scope to expand onto the planet on the outer ring.

Some fixes for stuff I've never encountered but the biggest thing they added is the prevention of losing stuff if you try to delete items and they can't fit in your inventory. I didn't even know this new thing was in there until I deleted a storage tank that was full and ended up with a mini explosion of and hydrogen cubes everywhere. Hitting z allows you to hoover them up or delete them.

i've dedicated the entire outer planet to science and mining. I'm goin to go back and also setup a larger scale production of deuteron rods and fusion reactors to feed teh science and dump the excess into battery charging.

This planet will become my intergalactic delivery hub, dedicated to power, mall & science.

When I get back on I'll stick up a pic of my lava planet, I've started concreting it into a giant death star which is slowly becoming forge-world!

150ish hours in now I think and I still haven't created green jellies.

I keep forgetting where I'm building stuff because I didn't make a note at the time. Last time it happened I requested they component from a tower and then quickly chased the ship to see where it warped to:)

i reckon you could write words in belts on the ground and fill them with the items, then just fly around your planet and look for the giant sign :-)

EDIT:you could you use the glowing jellies to see the words at night

Oh fun fact, that video I posted had approximately 1200 solar sails in orbit around the star... I watched a time lapse video of some dude who basically had a Death Star firing 14000 solar sails a minute.
