| Glad it's not just me, I also thought it looked a tad less shiny than what we have seen already. |

Registered 18 years agoWas there something up with the audio quality on that last trailer for anyone else? It sounded a bit like what happens when you force on 3D audio on a game that doesn't support it on PS5. -

Registered 18 years agoTried it with headphones and it sounds like everything's mixed to the centre, with very little stereo effect. Sounds like it's all coming from the middle of my head, really weird. -

Registered 8 years agoYeah the gameplay really doesnt look made for me. Really never been much of a fan of twin stick shooters beyond a 5 minute play through. The idea of bullet sponges whilst avoiding an array of incoming fire, sounds like I'll get very bored very quickly. -

Registered 16 years agoI'm hoping that this is like Death Stranding previews and reviews where they were forbidden to discuss anything after a certain point in the game, and we're taking a view on Returnal based on only a fraction of the actual game itself.
Death Stranding appeared to be only a walking simulator based on the footage and reviews and it was only when you acutally played it you realised there was (a lot) more to it.
I certainly won't be buying this right away until I know what it is I'm getting for the money. If it's just a procedurally generated shoot'em-up that is presented like a run-and-gun looter it'll be far less attractive to me.
It'll have it's place in my library, but not for £60 or whatever I can get it for at launch. -

Hand on preview... Although it's more like a infomercial in reality. -

And then I see a video from SkillUp and I'm excited again. -
It does look really good. What actually pisses me more off than the 80 EUR price tag though is that there's also a 90 EUR Deluxe Edition with a couple of extra weapons. Seriously, come on.

Registered 11 years agoReally odd choice for Sony to price this at full RRP. They seem to have this rigid price structure in place and it's going to burn them here because it's well and truly out of impulse buy range, which is critical to games like this.
I'll buy it from the US store for around €56, which is far more palatable. Still, I'm massively looking forward to it.

Registered 13 years agoTbh the EG preview has rekindled my interest... and my birthday is coming up. It's a lot more palatable when it's not my money. -

Registered 11 years agoI’m repeatedly going back and for between “this looks really good” and “do I want to pay £70 for it though?”.......still haven’t landed on one. -

Registered 16 years agoAs it's a physical release I may hang on for a pre-owned.
I can see a lot of people rushing to buy it because there's not much new stuff coming out for PS5 and then feeling miffed at pay 70 quid for a rogue like. -

Registered 11 years agoPreowned PS5 games don't tend to be much cheaper... Like 5 quid less, or in CEX case, same as buying new.
Anyway, we'll see how many of you can resist when reviews drop
Having read a bunch of previews, this is a nailed on 90+ MetaCritic. -

Registered 15 years agoI cracked, sorry. £61. A new record (low, I think). Need the shiny. I’ll get my coat. -

Registered 15 years agoYep. I dithered and missed that boat.
Tending to buy more digital stuff these days but, as it’s a disc, I figured I can chuck a pube in it and punt it on to CEX for £40 or so in the future. -

Registered 4 years agoAfter seeing the positivity from the final previews and the gameplay I’ve seen, I have to say I’m close to buckling in paying full price for this. Very close. -

Registered 13 years agoSo odd to have that so close to release on a game that seems to be getting all positive reactions. My only guess is its very short and not really worth full price but too late to cancel those pre orders by that time?

Registered 7 years agoI've stuck a pre-oder in, always liked the look of it but the previews have pretty much sold it to me.
To be honest as soon as they mentioned Alien-like atmosphere I was in. -
