Registered 17 years agoIt doesn't look all that, and comes from a developer I'm not familiar with, so I think I'll park any cautious optimism and move right on to "probably shit".
That said, anything co-op is a bit like catnip for me, so let's see what the reviews say. Plus: Aliens, obvs. -

Registered 16 years agoLooks like another pure shooter, where the aliens run around crouched at waist height and aren't scary in the slightest. I enjoyed Vermintide 2, so if this reviews well I might give it a go, but the Aliens licence (as opposed to Alien) has a pretty poor history in recent years. -

Registered 10 years agoThird person shooters are pretty tired these days (see outriders for example). This looks to doing nothing new and looks stiff as fuck from a studio I can’t think of anything they’ve made.
That motion detector noise you hear there, it’s coming from a thousand bargain bins. -

Registered 10 years agoThird person seems like a bad choice for a game where by nature presumably you are under regular pressure. Then you have a space marine with a ginormous smart gun (and likely the turning circle of a tank judging from the stilted animation) taking up 1/2 of the screen obscuring what little frontal and peripheral vision that brings.
So yeah by all means label that experience as “joyless”
I’d love to be wrong, I really would (franchise is cool yo) but I just don’t see it.

I would describe convincing yourself to dislike a game you know absolutely nothing about as joyless yes.
