| I've gone so far as to add it to my rental list with Boomerang, which is more than I thought I'd do. Not sure it'd be worth a purchase for me. |

They seemed a bit adverticle to me, but yeah, I think this'll be a perfectly adequate AA game.
Most of the previews out to day seem very positive. It's basically Aliens:Left4Dead as expected and all have said it's very fun.
But yeah the reduced price means it'll very much be in the AA category. I'm not expecting more than a few pissed up nights shooting hundreds of aliens with a pulse rifle with my mate. Worth £35 of anyone's money. -

Registered 12 years agoYeah I do hope it gets judged on its price, seeing as we've had nearly a year of 'SEVENTY POUNDS?!' by this point. -

Registered 8 years agoIs there any word on whether motion tracker bloops come from the control pad speaker on Playstation? That was such a cool touch in Alien Isolation.
It seems like a hard thing to screw up, because so much of the gear in the film is so awesome. Even in the boardgame, they have mechanics to make the smart guns feel amazing and the sentry guns feel really tense.
I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. But only if the motion tracker noise comes out of the controller. -

Registered 16 years ago@Rodimus-Prime I remember pre-ordering the Wii-U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines because of course they were going to use the pad screen as a motion tracker. That was a really exciting prospect.
Then the Wii-U version got cancelled. Then the game was shit. -

You can only use the D-pad and you can't run diagonally.
Pretty gutted they didn't go for a Prometheus co-op shooter.

There's probably a few people on here thinking the same, so maybe worth using this thread to organise some games.
I actually quite fancy this despite the fact I'd probably be flying solo. I'm a sucker for anything aliens. -

Registered 8 years agoI quite like the idea of people being able to drop into games. Playing through Colonial Marines with my pal, whenever he was ready to do co-op i would always say
'He's coming in, i feel safer already'.
It was kind of wasted, seeing as i was the only person in the room, but i got the reference and that's what matters.
It's such a quotable film, it's going to be like my glory days playing Quantum of Solace multiplayer, and dropping Bond quips relevant to the method in which i dispatched my enemies. -

Oh? It's only 35 (alien s)quid (monsters)? Might give that a go then, I think I have nearly that in xbox rewards, ergo it would be 'free'.

Apart from all the minor ballache of clicking shit to earn the rewards.

Registered 8 years agoI'm pretty much sold on it now after watching the previews on YT. Looks like they're throwing references to Prometheus, comic book shit, Alien Isolation (the first refinery area was apparently built by Seegson!) as well. Mowing down aliens with a pulse rifle, what's not to like?
Although... I am one of the few (only) who actually enjoyed Aliens:CM so don't take my word for it that it'll be decent. -

Registered 15 years agoThis looks like EDF:Aliens which is fine with me. As long as it has the brapbrap gun and motion detector I'd be totally up for buying this on day 100 for £5 -

Was going to bunk off work a bit to play this. Debating whether it's worth bunking off to play Flight Sim instead, in protest. -

This. Wasn't expecting much when it was announced, though I love the Alien/s universe. Previews looked fun, and I'm also in the teeny tiny group of people that actually enjoyed Aliens:CM. Could see the flaws of course, but I thought it was a fun enough romp, largely due to the franchise attached admittedly.
