First they gave us Ratchet & Clank for free with no need for subscription. Literally just a free game.
Now weíre getting ten more free games. Is this how theyíre going to compete with Game Pass?

Astro bot is a nice one given the only physical games I had were psvr. Now I will be able to play it on my ps5 digital.

Wow, those are some great games, especially the PSVR ones. My strategy of not buying games pays off again.

Can't say many of those interest me personally on first glance but it's a very generous selection. I'm sure there will be something there that will click.

I love Abzu but also, have owned it for years.

Horizon Zero Dawn should be good. I probably wouldnít have bought it any time soon.

Have held off Subnautica as I wanted to play it in VR but I'll probably try it now. Any of the other stuff I'm interested in I'm already bought.

Missed the part about Horizon being part of it too.

Bought it for 7 quid a few weeks back and haven't got around to trying it yet. That'll teach me.

My son was torn between the two the other week. He went for Horizon Complete edition and has played it loads. He's got his £15 worth out of it...

A few games are available now.

Tip for Subnautica: x+L1+R1, then type "vsync", unlocks the framerate

To the idea of this being how they will compete with Game Pass...

Iím wondering who PSNow isnít seen as a valid competitor to GamePass? Iíve looked through the list of available titles and there isnít that huge a gap in quality between Xbox and PS.

Given Xboxís focus on GamePass surely we should hope to see a much-improved PSNow this gen?

I suppose it depends on how much of a consideration Game Pass is when choosing what console to buy. Anecdotally it seems to me that the CoD / FIFA brigade look to be sticking with PS at the minute.

Yeah PS Now is fine for a subscription thing now. I sign up every now and again but just don't end up playing anything. Find I need to actually buy a game to make me stick with it.

To be equivalent to GamePass, I guess Sony would need to bundle it with PS+?

Even though I've packed away the PS4, and have no great urge to get a PS5 with that chassis, I still dutifully hoovered up all the freebies.

@Trent_Steel The real Ąkiller featureď of GP will be that you get the exclusives on day 1. CanĎt see Sony competing with this, at all. No amount of old games on PS Now will beat Elder Scrolls 6 on GP.

I donít have VR but have downloaded the rest.

Witness looks like a nice afternoon break game.

Iím not really a fan of survival mechanics but Subnautica looks pretty and its nice to tinker at base building from time to time.

I canít tell if Gungeon looks like my kind of thing or not and Iíve realised I had it confused with Crypt of the Necrodancer this whole time

The beauty of it being free is that you can try it and find out. Itís good, providing you like top-down twin-stick shooters.

The Witness is great. Itís a bit moe than an afternoon relax though.

    @UncleLou

Yeah but itís annoying that there seems to be no incentive from Sony to do the same with Naughty Dog or the like to get a similar Day 1 incentive on PS. Unless Microsoft start winning over the casual CoD / FIFA players Sony will have no incentive to start offering more as theyíll sell the units anyway.

One thing I think Microsoft has played a blinder on is the price-point of a Series S plus GamePass, which will make Xbox a tempting option even if you already have a PS5. Iíll go with Sony for my main console due to backwards comparability and the exclusives, but will add a Series S once Elder Scrolls 6 is out.

Heh, yeah, nope. Better have a pen and paper handy. You *will* need it. You'll spend the first hour or two wondering why someone suggested that, but you'll find out why soon enough.

I gave up on Witness a long time ago, there comes the point where unless you're insanely, fiendishly dedicated and/or clever, it becomes infuriating. SO much to admire about it, though. Shame the creator turned out to be a grade A pillock though.

He is a bit of a pretentious tit, but if I'd made Braid and The Witness I'd be unbearable.
