Registered 17 years ago@Reacher that was your first mistake. I sprawl on a small cart, and have my housecat drag my prone body between rooms. But hey - you do you! -

Good of you to think of others, Reacher, but man, I'd say, keep the money. Buy a game, buy something for the kids!

I didn't reply earlier for fear of coming off like a dick, but I wanted to say something similar.

Registered 16 years agoActually scratch that, I do give monthly to GOSH (but I don’t normally talk about my charity work etc), just 4 grand will make a huge difference to you long term. As noble as it is, splitting the pot and giving 500 quid to a few others will make fuck all difference to each of them in the long run

Registered 10 years agoHey all, just a quick update.
My scans didn't happen, so I'm having to wait until Tuesday to have them and after that, I'll get the results, so fingers crossed.
In regards to the funds, everyone here, at The Everton Forum and at OSWReview have been amazing. I'll be closing it up soon after the end of this month, so that the remaining can go to charities. These will be the local Claire House Hospice, and EITC (Everton in the Community) for food poverty.
Thanks again for anyone who donated or helped push this on to other platforms. It's simply showing how amazing people can be (especially mardy arse middle age men, of which I am one).
All the best peeps, I'll let update after results are back. -

Registered 10 years agoHey Peeps.
Just a quick note to say that the Gofundme is remaining open due to to a number of requests by people who were not able to contribute before the end of the month /payday. This largely applies to members of other forums too.
Thank you all for donations so far. Feel free to chil in, share or whichever.
all the best. -

Registered 10 years agoHey mate.
Things have been good actually. I've reached the point where my meds have been adjusted so that I have been able to work. In fact, it's literally my first day in the Civil Service today (working from home).
I still suffer quite badly with a lot of the symptoms and I now have to use a walking stick if I'm moving a reasonable distance.
Sadly, as was with my son who passed away, my youngest has spent the last two weeks in Alder Hey with a serious bowel conditiin. This bought back pretty bad memories and I essentially am living my worst nightmare ever, over and over again every day.
The funds raised by yourself and others helped a long way to making sure I was able to keep my roof over my head and the kids, and I donated what was left to Claire House hospice, who have helped my children's and so many others.
I've got a payday coming at the end of the month, at last, so that's peace of mind in a way.
I also have three new pairs of glasses, to use depending on how far away the thing I can't see is. -
