It's been discovered that TimeSplitters 2 is fully playable in Homefront Revolution (PC and Consoles)

There is an Arcade Cabinet in the game and with cheat codes, you can gain access to TimeSplitters 2 Story Mode, Arcade Mode and Challange Mode and it's in 4k !!

The code to access it was lost but it's now been found.

I'm expecting the game to jump in sales now.

As a matter of fact, I might consider it myself once it gets in one of those weekly deals...

Probably. It would be pretty funny to see this chart again just because of TimeSplitters 2.

Although that might actually get the publisher to finally do something with the TimeSplitters IP, which would be awesome.

The game often goes on sale on Xbox, though I wonder if this news will cause the publisher to raise the price.

I missed Timesplitters 2 the first time around. Is it one of those early 2000s shooters that aged horribly, or could I still expect a fun romp?

It's Ł4.49 on xbox at the minute. Gotta be worth it just for timesplitters.

@Decks The arcade cabinet in the game gives you a demo of the first 2 levels. That's been known for ages of course.

The developer put the full game in too but lost the code to access it and now the codes have just been found again.

Just managed to get my paws on another free gift card (ebay must be in big trouble if they have started giving out "5 euro off a 5 euro purcahse" codes), so I might as well try it for myself.

And if it's true what people say about Homefront 2 being visibly improved by patches, maybe I'll get an extra game out of it too.

@Malek86 I replayed it on a projector with some mates about five years ago and it was still great.. although I think my PS2 kept giving a disc read error for it so we had to switch to timesplitters 3. Which was also great but less 'fun' in tone.

The single player was good and had the extra objectives style format as Goldeneye iirc. Then there was a whole load of mini challenges to complete to unlock multiplayer characters which were great arcade style fun

@richardiox there's a Freedom Fighter Bundle which contains the game and all DLCs for much cheaper than the base game right now.

From what I hear, the single player DLCs are more linear and overall better than the main game, so that might be worth a go as well.

About three hours in. This game is naff, everything from dialogue to gunplay to movement is below subpar. Gonna speedrun through as quickly as I can. I hope TS2 is worth it.

I bought Homefront on the sale then remembered I have ts2 on my ps2 anyway. I might just play it on that if this is shit.

Seems that you must get around two thirds of the way in.

But the game is very similar to Far Cry 3 (it's almost a clone really). If you ignore the side quests and just play through the story, it shouldn't be very long.
