I was a bit shocked the other day to find out that there have been 16 (I think) R&C games. I must have played ... 3 I guess? The very first two or so, and the remake on the PS4.
I think Ive played somewhere between 1 and 16. I know I have played more than I think I have but in my mind they are basically all remakes of the first one on a different platform.

    @Rogueywon

Crack in Time was really, really good then. The crank time shift puzzles were great too.

Yeah I've only played the PS4 one and it was... OK. I just want these graphics to fuck me in the eyeholes though so if the reviews are good I'll fold.

Yeah, the PS4 one felt a bit simplistic. I hope it's because it was a remake, and that the series has evolved a bit, including the new one.

2016 was a proper ground up remake, with a number of changed elements to fit with the movie. I'd expect this one to largely follow that gameplay formula.

Agree with that, I did enjoy it but it definitely felt a bit bare bones compared to previous versions. The big jump pack was pretty cool though.

89 Opencritic right now, with 98% of critics recommending. Not a bad start.

    From the EG review:
It's just pure craft, pure fun, pure video games - all the brilliant, bizarre ideas this studio has just thrown at the wall and all of them sticking. The only thing it lacks - apart from maybe a tiny bit of restraint - is pretence. There's no self-seriousness, no po-faced melodrama, no insecurity about the form. A game that's happy to be a game, in a familiar, cuddly shape.
    Looking forward to it.

Nothing on length of game in EG review. Also a bit concerned about the on-rails gameplay. I suppose they were always about going to next planet and completing it in a fairly linear fashion but I thought these worlds were going to be bigger and more densely packed.

Sounds good, even though IGN's review claimed 90% of all collectibles and stuff done @ 16 hours play time. That kinda makes the 70 quite a bit harder to swallow.

I'm sure it's quality over quantity.

Is 16 hours short for a game now?

It's 16 hours and then it unlocks challenge mode according to IGN. I'm happy with that. I will probably stick it on hard straight away though as they are a just a little too easy on normal.

I pretty much only buy digital games, but this one is getting bought on disc, blitzed and sold. And I can't wait! If I enjoy it, I'll probably get it digitally in a few years in a sale.

I'd recommend buying the credit from Shopto, gets them down to about 61.

He's very effusive about the need for generations.

Haven't bothered reading any reviews but seems reactions are pretty much where I hoped they'd be. Can't wait.

On a related note, why do the videos on the PS5 (was the same on the PS4) store always looks so shit? Stuttery, compressed, low res.
