Registered 17 years agoStrange with all these crashes. I played through the entirety of spiderman remastered on rt60 without a blip. Not got too far with mm due to taking a break from spidey but not come across anything buggy. -

Registered 16 years agoI was hoping to get an early start on this, but some fucker just about important enough that I can't say "no" has stuck a meeting in my diary for 5:30PM. Fucker. -

Registered 16 years ago@MrWorf Not somebody in my reporting line (or HR), so that's not a worry here. Just a sad bastard with a hobby-horse who I can't quite afford to bat off.
Though I can fantasise about murdering them. -

Registered 1 year agoThere's a small day one patch on top of the one that came out the other day btw for anybody jumping in after work... Patches still take a while to install (as in make a cuppa and it'll be done, not slow cook a meal and it'll still be copying like the PS4) -

Registered 12 years agoThis really is the interactive Pixar film it's been coined as. Everything is so easy on the eyes. It's a joy to play something that doesn't take itself so seriously that looks so good. -

Registered 17 years agoIt will be my last purchase for a while. I still have spiderman mm to play and will purchase demon's around October time when the darkness sets in, hopefully even cheaper by then. Could possibly get re8 for Halloween too.
Going to fire this up after the footy tonight. -

Registered 12 years agoHate to be that guy but I haven't noticed much myself yet up to the 4th planet.
It did get a patch at some point before I started playing today though. May be worth doing the manual check for update. -

Registered 12 years agoThe characters are all pretty great. I'm quite sensitive to getting irritated by games trying desperately to be funny or quirky but this isn't like that. Has actual, genuine charm and is all well produced and acted. -

I like that they have an in-universe explanation for i-frames. -

Registered 13 years agoI had to turn off the 120 Hz mode in settings (I don't even have a compatible telly), and I turned down the brightness just a touch.
It feels fine at 30fps tbh, and jesus it looks good. That intro! -

I like how they praised Insomniac, they really did pump out the spiderman remaster, miles morales and this in a short time-frame, and then there’s the whole tech prowess.

Registered 13 years agoWould it be overly hyperbolic to say this is staggering? I've only reached the very beginning of the city in the other dimension, and I'm not really playing it so much as strolling around like a slack jawed yokel, poking in every corner. -

The station door on the first level didn’t open when it was supposed to for me. Had to commit suicide and repeat the fight outside.

Yep... I keep opening photo mode just to look around a bit and soak up the detail.
The game itself is still ticking all the classic R&C boxes for me too. Dumping all of my raritanium into the mushroom dude in the hopes that he's as useful as Mr/Mrs Zurkon. -

Same thing happened to me (I think if you spend too much time exploring every corner you sometimes miss a trigger), although you can restart the checkpoint from the pause menu.

Registered 14 years agoWow! These graphics really are something else. I had it on RT performance mode and thought they were nice, but fidelity mode is a whole different level. It’s insane. I can’t go back now, and it takes me very little time to adjust to 30fps, so that’ll be me for the remainder of the game. It’s thoroughly enjoyable so far, too.

Totally agree, it looks out of this world, spending alot of time in the photo mode. Even the bolts are ray traced and reflect Ratchet as well!!

Whatever engine they have created out of this, I would love insomniac to do something a bit darker in tone for their next game.

No, this is orca jumping over sonic levels of omg. Mind blowing graphics aside, in that level there is a nightclub and feeling the pulsing wub wub on the controller was just brilliant. It's a real leap from the old rumble.
