Can anyone recommend a good general gaming podcast? Late to the party I know, but Iíve been getting into podcasts recently to listen to whilst running. I know Eurogamer do one, so Iíll check that out - just wondered if anyone else had some good suggestions?

    Cane and Rinse.

    UK based too.

Every episode a panel dissect a different game. It's great.

Just what I was looking for - discussions of specific titles rather than general waffle. Thank you!

Started listening to The Back Page in the last few days after a recommendation in a different thread, a couple of UK games mag journos chatting about games & media coverage, etc.

    Recommended.

I like Filthy Casuals from Australia. Clarifying that it's Australian as it isn't necessarily the most unique name.

I like Triple Click (presenters formerly of Kotaku). Originally switched over to it from Giant Bomb a few years ago because I was sick of listening to 20 mins of wrestling talk before they got into the games.

The videogamer podcast is the one for me. A very well-established formula.

Depending your age Midlife Gamer podcost is great - honest, a bit crude and very british take on gaming for the more mature(immature?) audience.

I prefer the Giant Beastcast for my US style gaming gossip (as opposed to the Giantbombcast which West Coast as opposed to East Coast) - they do go all over the shop but Vinny Carevella is a decent chap who hosts. Can get a little shouty and loud - what is it with Americans - my speakers/neighbours can't take it.

Others on my download list are RebelFM and Videogamer.

They don't really do this any more... now it's 20 minutes of home improvement banter. Guess it's not for everyone, I like it when they veer wildly off topic more than I like hearing about new full-price games I won't be buying for years anyway. Although Game Pass means I do occasionally get to hear early impressions of something new that I might actually download and play myself.

Must check out Videogamer again, I was hooked in the days of Burns/Jim/Bratterz, and did still enjoy some of the stuff from Alice and Colm (?) but haven't listened in years.

@hedben2013 Both Alice and Colm are no longer there. It's a couple of guys who are good to listen to, although one has an annoying loud Ricky Gervais laugh which is annoying.

I listen to the IGN UK one because i am simple like that.

Other than that i tend to pick up podcasts about games i'm currently interested in, Third Fleet at the minute, monster hunter podcast is decent.

Looked down the Cane&Rinse episode list and found Final Fantasy 6. Sold! I LOVE that game, but hardly anyone in Europe ever played it. My flatmate at Uni had a chipped SNES.

Will check out the midlife gamer one as well, for sure. Given I am 47.

Will check out Cane & Rinse

Giant bomb has danny o'dwyer on the podcast and welcome addition. No wrestling talk for ages.

The wrestling talk reduced significantly after Dan Ryckert left.

God, Ryckert, what knob, GiantBomb used to be great, then they seemed to be stuck in retroland especially Jeff. Though Danny O is great, didn't know he was on it.

Gamers with Jobs is still quite good with grown up reasoned discussion though I miss the old crew.

Three moves ahead is terrific for strategy games discussion

Rebel FM and Waypoint are longstanding faves

I used to really enjoy The Jimquisition. But over the last year or so its turned into something else, some sort of ranty shout box/crusade more about the games industry than actual games. Still listen though.

That's been Jim Sterling's whole deal since he used to write for Destructoid ages ago. Never been a fan, myself.

Oh Axe of the Blood God is a good RPG podcast. They did a walkthrough of the best final fantasy games a few episodes ago, worth a listen.

Can't believe Vinny. alex and brad are leaving, thats everyone gone from GB east. Been listening to GB for years and Jeff is the last one from the early days. The group dynamic took a hit when Ryan died (older podcasts was so much better) The new hires have never been as good, Dan was awful, thick man child - who had to have things explained to him and annoying MGS and rasslin fanboy. Abby and ben were really awful each in their own way. Jan and others were ok

can't see the site recovering, its strange more people leaving after GB got purchased
