    There's a Windows event coming up on June 24th and there are rumbles of yet another overhaul of everyone's favourite reason to hate PCs - Windows. Here's a tweet that people believe is intimating toward iteration 11.

    https://twitter.com/panos_panay/status/1400123553849114624?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

    Hmm. Flies in the face of them stating at least once that 10 would be the last one, so I think it'll just be called Windows if anything. Or WINDOWS! or Win.

    I don't know, I don't care, just don't break anything important to me and/or make everything run faster and better.

    Here's the livestream event link, which is open to everyone on the 24th.

    I like good change, so give me some of that. Just try to avoid making everyone cringe yet again please, MS.

    To be fair I actually like Windows since v10. And this is coming from someone who used pretty much every Linux distribution in existence.

    I still loathe the settings though; I doubt I've ever seen anything as opaque.

    Yeah. I like it, but the more they push you away from control panel to the wanky settings app, the less I like it... I have a feeling 11 if it happens would be the final nail in control panel's coffin...
    Having said that, it's been nice to just have a single evolving OS that just updates itself instead of the usual get a service pack or two and then move on to a new OS.

    I do have a link to the real control panel in my task bar.
    I also hate the super vague error. “Something went wrong” doesn’t help.

    I'm sure I've said this on here before but the worst Windows error I've ever received was 'Catastrophic Failure' I thought my PC was about to explode.

    I think it was in Windows 2000 and ironically it wasn't all that bad. Basically, Windows had an error code for most things but the fallback when it didn't was that particular error message.

    @kosigan OK kiddo!

    I'll just be over here on my Commodore VIC-PET in school, doing my programming.

    You and your fancy MS-DOS V3.
