The trailer wasn't first person view gameplay but I felt it gave a good impression of what we will be getting. Battlefield 4 but twenty years in the future. Looked good. I believe they are also increasing the player count but I'm not a fan of that idea but it showed looooads of environmental destruction. Jets though, booooo. Helicopters, yay.

I think the maps will be big enough for the increase in player size.

BF 1942 was fine with 128 players, if you had good internet back then.

@Bichii - was there a lot of destruction? There were a few scripted events like the big door falling, but nothing smaller scale (unless I missed it). Reminds me a bit more of BF4's Levolution®️ rather than BC style destruction that impacted gameplay. The trailer was interesting though, hopefully the gameplay trailer will show some less scripted stuff.

Looks great to me. No more WWII weak ass pew pew. Give me modern death dealing weaponry any day. I can imagine driving a hovercraft in a straight line will be a nightmare. Tuk Tuk Death Squad assemble!

Yeah scripted destruction isn't fun. It gets really boring after the 20th time. You want the bad company style of destruction, that actually changed gameplay each time.

The last couple of battlefields haven't managed destruction very well, with every map quickly being flattened after 5 minutes. Interested to see what happens here.

Fingers crossed they've ditched Xbox one and PS4 as well for maximum sexiness.

Wasn't it announced recently that they hadn't? I believe it's cross-gen as well.

I'd be surprised if they ditch the last gen consoles as they'd be missing out on a lot of money. They have history of having massively different versions for different platforms e.g. BF3 24 Vs 64 player count, and some of the maps differed hugely in size. I'd expect something similar for 6, which probably means no cross play, unless they allow it for certain maps/ game modes.

The defensive position building in BFV was actually really good. It went a good way to solving the 'everything been flattened' late round issue.

I’m hoping it’s got that bit where an American nine year old calls me a “fukin doosh” in it.

On the Xbox store it's £9 more for the series X version than the Xbox one version.

Nope, they've specifically said no BR.

Interested to see the gameplay reveal this weekend. Watched a preview video by Jackfrags and he seemed quite optimistic from what he had seen today in a press/influencer session.

I'm all in on this, feels like they've learned something from the car crash that was V.

That trailer really made me want to fire up Battlefield 4 on the PS5…..y’know, the last great Battlefield game they made.

Anyone know if it’s still reasonably populated on PS4/PS5?

Well I loved V. Sure I prefer 3&4 but V was awesome fun with some great maps and still better than most shooters out there.

I preferred 1 and V, and the two Bad Companies over 3 and 4, tbh. 2042 doesn't look like it's for me, and that's okay.

It's shit they aren't doing single player. I'm one of those weirdo's that go to the SP before touching multiplayer. Haven't touched the multiplayer on 1 or 6. Would have thought they'd learned a lesson after the number of cases where devs didn't include one. Titanfall, Dice's own Battlefront to name a few.

I don't really think anyone plays bf for its single player. Well apart from you. Bad Company 2 was decent but that was years ago, I think they know where their strengths lie and what their players want.

I play single player first. As is probably evident from the games I prefer. No single player, no buy from me.

The single player in them is fucking dreadful though so I can see why they haven't bothered this time.

I've only played the campaigns for Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 4 and they are really bad. As far as FPS campaigns go, they're the worst I've ever played, by some margin. They're a big waste of time and a mile away from the quality of the online stuff.

Bad Company 2 is the best one by some distance.
