Yeah, BF games have dreadful campaigns, BC2 is average at best but still far better than 3 or 1 (not played any others). Battlefront 2's campaign is amazingly bad too, it's like a crap PS2 game. The AI in Perfect Dark on the N64 puts it to shame Edited by andytheadequate at 23:37:07 09-06-2021 |

Registered 3 years agoThe Bad Companies were great, or at least my memory of them was. I like that they threw in a bit of humour to the usually stale and dour war drama. Honestly, all I've wanted from DICE for the past decade or so has been BC3.
4 is absolutely the worst story campaign though. 3's wasn't great, but 4 was butter knife dull. -

It's a 128 player on PC/current gen consoles only 64 players on PS4 and Xbox One, sure I read the last gen version is being developed by a different team as well.
Fingers crossed they've ditched Xbox one and PS4 as well for maximum sexiness. -

Registered 4 years agoI don't see the appeal of 128. Just feels like a marketing number that adds nothing to the actual game. 64 is total carnage already and 32 player rush mode was way more fun than 64. -

They must have got some futurologists around a table and fleshed out some ideas of what might happen in the near future.
Personally, I like the ideas of the breakaway map but as others have said, this predicted choreographed map changes mid-way through are likely to become a little tired once you have done it for the 20th time. -

There's a "Redacted" game mode that's a "love letter to BF fans" to be announced at some EA play live event in July.
That'll be the "F2P" mode then

Registered 18 years agoI don’t like the sound of summoning a vehicle. I quite like the emergent gameplay of waiting around for a vehicle to spawn or just coming across something and thinking yeah, I’ll give that a go. The hero classes I will reserve judgement on. This and the £70 price tag plus extras is killing my hype. -

Registered 13 years agoI'll be honest, £70 for a multiplayer only game that's festooned with all of the usual battle pass shenanigans is setting my spidey sense off a bit. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest.
Love a good Battlefield mind.

Registered 16 years agoWe will get to see what its like before puting money down if your on EA Play or GP.
Like many other EA-published games, Battlefield 2042 will have a 10 hour free trial available to all EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers beginning October 15, letting subscribers play the game a full week ahead of everyone else. Subscribers will also get first dibs on the Battlefield 2042 open beta, though more specific details on what exactly that will entail have yet to be revealed at the time of this writing.

Registered 14 years agoSo if I got this, I'd need to splash £90 on it, as I'm currently glorying in a PS4 and PS5 at home, depending on which console the kids are using.

Registered 18 years agoSo disc based pre orders are up now for £60 for the current gen and £50 for PS4/Xbox One. So that’s something I guess? Still with season/battle passes this is not a cheap game. -
