It was, it slipped a week for us Britons for some reason.

Just a heads up, it's an incredibly buggy release. Tonnes of people have had to completely remove Direct X from their system and install the one off the disc to get it to even start running.

I am not entirely sure that's really the case - true, there's some outrage on the hardcore forums, but I couldn't quite help the feeling the last game most of these people installed has been Civ III at best.

There seems to be a problem wit ATI cards though.

You can read about the problems and some solutions here. There's also a link inside that thread towards another forum.

It doesn't sound like a very big deal, apparently you need to let the game update your DirectX even though you think you have the latest version. And you need the latest drivers for the video card.

I have a 9800 and got this fired up this morning - no time to play though.

Saw some corruption on the video, but the ingame looked OK. Will report back 5 minutes after I get hom tonight

I have a 9700 and mine runs impeccably - I did let it update my DirectX stuff, though, so just let it have its way and you might be fine.

So do I go out to buy this when I want to run it on my Tecra A3?

Spec:

3/4GB Memory
M370 1.5GB Intel Proc
900GMA GPU.

I confess I have no idea about these specs. WoW runs very well on it though...

What do you think? Anypone runnignt hsi game on similar hardware?

Damn, I've read the entire walkthrough, it's huge and gives you a very good feel of the game. It's also a bit like porn, it satisifes your needs for a while but at the same time makes you miss it more.

I want it now! (still talking about Civ, clear?)

Aye, one ting that is missing, still, is the option to dictate what terrain you will start in. The number of restarts because there's a wanking great big desert to your left or you seemed to have spawned in the middle of the Alps...

The military advisor screen takes ages to load for me.. anyone else?

They need to update some of the more important imfomation from other civs (like built world wonders) in a popup or something instead of the tiny writing at the right of the screen as well.

Apart from that.. so far so good. Im loving it and cant get the game out of my head, which is a good/bad sign depending how you look at it.
