I saw Tiger_Walts had created a thread about this some time ago (which was ignored by all of us). I wanted to create another thread so that it stays on the front page as long as possible.

I saw this trailer before watching Land of the Dead (average but compentant by the way) and was one of those trailers where you turn to your mates and go "Whoaah!!". Very impressive and original looking.

Go and watch it RIGHT NOW!!

    /Can't wait
    /Watches again

AS a matter of fact in Russia it our performed Return of the King and Star Wars. How it fairs in the west maybe a different matter.

BTW - the DVD is out there to download for those who know where to look. :)

Yes, it says so in the trailer it is a trilogy. However, AFAICT the others have not been made / released as yet.

    Ahhh:

Following the success in Russia of Night Watch, Bekmambetov has already started production on a sequel, Day Watch, while a third part, Dusk Watch, filmed in English and co-produced by Fox and Russian broadcaster Channel One (which funded the original), is planned to follow next year.

..looks like we won't have too long to wait if this first installment is a corker! :)

This looks indeed very interesting - I wanted to see it a few weeks ago at a film festival, but missed it, but it'll be in the theatres some time soon anyway.

I saw the trailer for this in the cinema. Half the audience (including me) were laughing at how poor and over-the-top it seemed. Sorry.

Yes I'm sure morriss. God alone knows what other morons you were in the cinema with, I was sat in a Multiplex with 100 chavs, they were silent as soon as it came on!

    Apology not accepted.

    Rather presumptuous aren't you?

100 chavs being impressed by something gives bragging rights does it? Nice one. ;)

I need no chavs to prove you must be an idiot for laughing at the trailer morriss me old fruit. However, the fact that 100 simpletons managed to grasp the concept and style of the movie whilst it completely bypassed your good self is most certainly comething I would keep quiet about if I were you.

Very brave of you to post indeed. :D

I've imported the Russian DVD (which has semi-descent English subtitles), and I quite like it. If you ignore the blatant Nescafé advertising throughout.

It's definitely recognisable as being directed by a music-video director, but there are also some very nice images in there; and I did like the story (although it took two viewing to digest what the subtitles were talking about).

    Genuine lol.

I'm the one that lept to the defense of a film I haven't even seen because someone (whom I don't know) said he laughed at it? I then go on to say 'nerve = touched'?

I'll say it again. My dear, dear boy. If you think it, it must be so.

No no, I really do think you're an idiot for laughing at the trailer. It just so happens that you may find this irritating. :)

Well, watching the trailer I get the feeling that it's the kind of film that will be a big hit among the people that think films as Equilibrium, Boondock Saints and Avalon are great pieces of intelligent and stylish indie cinema.

What I'm trying to say is: it looks like pish.

edit: Hang on. I don't mean to say that the visuals look like pish. Just that the film as a whole seems to be pish. Carry on.
