I saw Tiger_Walts had created a thread about this some time ago (which was ignored by all of us). I wanted to create another thread so that it stays on the front page as long as possible. I saw this trailer before watching Land of the Dead (average but compentant by the way) and was one of those trailers where you turn to your mates and go "Whoaah!!". Very impressive and original looking. Go and watch it RIGHT NOW!! /Can't wait /Watches again |
Night Watch - by god this looks good!

AS a matter of fact in Russia it our performed Return of the King and Star Wars. How it fairs in the west maybe a different matter.
That doesnt look that bad, just hope they dont over reach themselves and get to the 2nd part,it doesnt sell so well and then not able to complete it.
BTW - the DVD is out there to download for those who know where to look.

Registered 19 years agoAhhh:
Following the success in Russia of Night Watch, Bekmambetov has already started production on a sequel, Day Watch, while a third part, Dusk Watch, filmed in English and co-produced by Fox and Russian broadcaster Channel One (which funded the original), is planned to follow next year.
..looks like we won't have too long to wait if this first installment is a corker!

The comments at the torrent spying place tell all -
This looks indeed very interesting - I wanted to see it a few weeks ago at a film festival, but missed it, but it'll be in the theatres some time soon anyway. -

I've imported the Russian DVD (which has semi-descent English subtitles), and I quite like it. If you ignore the blatant Nescafé advertising throughout.
It's definitely recognisable as being directed by a music-video director, but there are also some very nice images in there; and I did like the story (although it took two viewing to digest what the subtitles were talking about). -

Genuine lol.
I'm the one that lept to the defense of a film I haven't even seen because someone (whom I don't know) said he laughed at it? I then go on to say 'nerve = touched'?
I'll say it again. My dear, dear boy. If you think it, it must be so.

Registered 18 years agoWell, watching the trailer I get the feeling that it's the kind of film that will be a big hit among the people that think films as Equilibrium, Boondock Saints and Avalon are great pieces of intelligent and stylish indie cinema.
What I'm trying to say is: it looks like pish.
edit: Hang on. I don't mean to say that the visuals look like pish. Just that the film as a whole seems to be pish. Carry on.
