In the UK games (and most films in the Cinema too) come out on Fridays, videos/DVDs/CDs come out on Mondays. It's unusual for them to be "officially" launched on other days.

Same applies for us Whizzo, most games launch on fridays, some even on wednesdays. But SC seems to be an exception, dunno if it's the christmas rush or something.

Early unofficial launches seem to becoming a bit of a habit over here; one chain of shops lets them out early and everyone else uses the fact that it's unfair competition not to join in so they all do it.

Vice City and now Splinter Cell seems to be the latest games to come out early on a Thursday, funny that they're both highly sort after titles isn't it?

    Anticipation levels rising, rising, rising.

So any of you lot got Splinter Cell yet or are ye too busy playing it...Err don't answer that one stupid question.

Oh well only about 9 hours to wait.

Back after playing it for the last 6 hours and I must say it is just draw dropping in every way. In that 6 hours I've only done the first 2 missions and there is 9... lol. They are huge. I've taken a look at level 3 which is the Oil Rig and nothing has ever looked so good in all my gaming history.

It is a fat game and just perfect. Only flaw I have with it is that very few times (2 occasions) the AI can seem a bit stupid yet alot better than most games around.

SC also has a 'Behind the Scenes' section that shows the making of the game and a few bits left to come for me. There is a part in that shows Sam shooting through a fishtank and killing a guard. The fishtank water flows out onto the floor with fish and so forth. This is an example of the hundreds of things that can be done in game.

Best moment for me so far is at the end of level 2.
You go down the side of a building and burst through a window to kill an officer dude. Hack his PC which in turn alerts the security, 3 guards come at you through the door giving you the perfect moment to test out your 1 frag grenade :) Go out the door and through another to a side buildings roof, launch yourself into a lift shaft sliding a long way down into the basment car park where you meet a partner to escape in the van.

The very short level in the demo is at the end of level 1 by the way with some slightly different things to it.

I will be playing it from the beginning at work just to complete missions in different styles to the way I will do it here at home.

For those people getting it for the PC who have good enough hardware to make it run well. I'm very sorry you have to wait a couple of months longer to enjoy this amazing game.

For those that are thinking about getting an Xbox, get it now while you have that £199 deal till Christmas :)) That way the Xbox cost you just £40 and the 2 best Xbox games (Halo, SC) and it makes M$ lose money :0.

Barton, you simply can not put the game into words. Just play it for 20mins and you will see why this game is so amazing.
