Your ISP might allow newsgroup access but will limit the number of threads (and therefore speed) you can have running at any one time -

I'm thinking of switching to Usenetserver, any good comments for them?
they we're having problems with lots of dropped connections. this was the reason i moved to newsdemon.
Ahh I see, but newsdemon doesn't have SSL and only 80 days of retention, plus its $17.99 vs 14.99 at usenetserver.
Could anybody point me in the right direction to acquire a Newzbin V3 invite? because binsearch isn't very organized.
I can sort you out with an invite. PM Me an email address. -

Probably some setting in your downloader or on your search site is limiting you (newzbin defaults to 80ish days, I think). -

Registered 16 years agoI am on the 25gb limit account, and i just recycle the account when I have reached the limit, it still says this account should have 240 days of retention, but anything above around 80 ish (dont know exactly) just doesn't work

Registered 15 years agoI use NewsBinPro, so I wouldn't know where the settings for retention on that would be. Try and find server settings or something.
NB Pro is great though. Never really had any problems with it, except for some downloads from the list dissapearing now and again. -

Registered 19 years agoShouldn't make a difference which reader you use. I've used Grabit extensively in the past and it's always been fine for me. -

Registered 16 years agothis is damn annoying
i dont understand how it works for the stuff in green text, but why not red? what is the turning point?
i tried using newsbin pro, and it actually worked and started downloading the files, but it would never complete them, it would never download a small fraction of the files
all of them are at 14.5mb/14.9mb and then skipping to the next one
whats going on there then? -
