    A real beauty.

I take it you saw this thread with a link to the long gameplay video?

That's what videogame trees need to look like.

    New voice actor announcements.

Patrick Stewat we've known about for while. Sean Bean and Terence Stamp - great additions imo.

This game would look much better if the Xbox 360 was more difficult to code for!

I've played this one for a bit yesterday.
Looks very good. But I wasn't that impressed. That is probably because this is a game that becomes better the longer you play it.

Now King Kong, that's an experience that everybody needs to go through. Fucking hell, the graphics are superb, the intensity of the action is amazing and, well, it just feels special.

You mean there isn't a loading screen every 3 steps? ;)

    Heh, no worries.

The thing I am not so sure about is the animation, it's pretty stiff most of the time in the video. Still, I can't wait to play this one. I just have that gut feeling that it is (at least the PC version) not released any time soon.

Well, the weather was good, the venue special (although I've been there countless times) the presentation solid and the food en beverages were free.

    But I missed something.

Like I said before: I was more impressed by the Live dashboard slickness than anything else that night.

I entered the hall through a Buck Rogers-esque tunnel that projected all the names of the visitors, which looked pretty cool. And boy, do these Americans and Peter Moore know how to talk and give presentations. Too bad the actual stuff they were saying wasn't too exciting.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I've played amazing looking games like King Kong, GR3, PDZ, Kameo etc etc on final 360 hardware, which is fucking great.

But after watching fps after fps after 3rd person shooter I became gloomy (I wrote this before).

They should have mixed it up a little better. It now seemed that next gen gaming is all about killing and murdering.

    I felt very uncomfortable.

Until I actually got to play Perfect Dark and GR3.

Whatever. I don't know what to write. Like I said before, I'm having the worst week of my life, so it's hard to get excited about something as trivial as a new console. :-/

I can live with a low polygon count if Oblivion manages to run well on my PC (upgraded 6 months ago).

What about the size of the world? The only preview I found mentions Tamriel (the whole continent) - which would be a great improvement compared to Morrowind (one detailed island).

edit: to answer my own question - the game takes place in the province of Cyrodiil, including the Imperial City itself.

Thank you. Here I was, I bought a house with the missus, thought about having children and being very very happy with her because she is the most wonderful person I have ever met, (even after ten years) when suddenly, out of nowhere she says she's having doubts about us. Now she's staying over at a girlfriend.

    Thank you.

I'm keeping my hopes up though. The first couple of days I thought I would die of grief. And the scary thing is that I actually felt a physical pain, seeing how I was losing her.
(A bit like the bond between daemons and children in that Pullman trilogy.)

But now I have some hope that she might want to fight for it (the relationship). Giving it all up just like that, is something that must'nt happen.

Chin up, bef, I know it sounds like a cliché, but a serious crisis can really strengthen a relationship. I know it did for me.

Everquest 2 is definitely very pretty with all settings high.

It makes sense, though, because Sony aimed to have a game that would look good in yeras to come. The system requirements were also very high.

Save for the lighting being a lot better in the Oblivion shot. The EQ2 one has higher res textures, but Oblivion is using a hell of a lot more textures, throwing around a lot more polygons for the environment too.
